Hi everyone,
I am new to the forum and relatively new to producing (say about 8 months now). I thought it could be cool and useful to start a thread about some creative strategies people use to create interesting percussive elements in their tracks (I searched and did not find this topic yet - but if its there please point me to it).
When I started using Reason I almost never used audio, however I have started experimenting with it more and more. One nice trick I found to create interesting percussive movements is to take the audio file of a cymbal, time stretch it and then apply the Alligator on it. With all the options that device has you can create countless variations even on the same rhythm and create movement by using the filters and panning options.
Not sure if this is useful (I am a beginner after all), but I am curious to know whether any of you guys have interesting tricks to share?
Many thanks and happy producing!
Cheers,
DZM
