The lead here is a viola. But some cellos do a bit of a bed in the background. :)

I love both cello and viola for their mellow character and they do overlap in a certain range. The "fun fact" about the viola is that it's a weird size anyway - it's played like a violin, but in terms of size there are no the strict rules and you probably could build a viola that also is steady like a cello, but it would be still too small to play it that way and too big to play it like a violin.

Top quality sound! Sounds like it'd fit an arty indie game soundtrack. For me, there's something slightly off about the ambient background noise, like it's slightly too noticeable. Love those strings.
