Anyone ever get close to Robin Trower's "Bridge of Sighs" flanger – the slow part near the end of that song? Robin's flange sound is similar to Jimi Hendrix's flange on "Midnight. I couldn't quite dial it in, so I tried my u-he Uhbik-F Post-Retro Flanger and got very close, but I'm still not satisfied that I nailed it. It's a deep, slow flange with a distinctive detune node. Getting that sound can be missed by the slightest change in any one parameter. I came close with Kuassa Flanger but never nailed it. I came much closer with the extra controls on the Ubik-F. But if it's me, has anyone gotten that flange sound at the final 3rd of that song? Would love to know if it's doable with my new Kuassa Flanger bundle. Or maybe Robin is using more than just a flanger to achieve that??? Such as his Electro-Harmonix Electric Mistress, which blends stereo flanging and chorus effects?

Update: Yes. it seems that adding a chorus helps, but I still can't quite get the same flange sound as on Bridge of Sighs in the final 3rd part of the song.

Hello :)
Just made a quick combinator.

You can download it from here:
https://nalbantov.com/files/classic2/DN ... _Sighs.zip
It includes the Reason Project , Caliburn Amp Preset and a combinator.
Also, a short backing track for playing over.
Greetings,
Dimi

Totally fabulous that you are doing this, Dimi! If I could ask you some too, that I have no real clue how they were done:
(and of course I can totally understand if those are too weird and off the beaten track to try!)

Guitar starting at 1.03 in this song (Sharing Sensations by Trisomie 21):

And I have not even an idea how to get there, every thing I do to get there lands me in this big mess that doesn't sound anything like this...

Second example is Clan of Xymox signature solo guitar sound, probably best shown in this video (Back Door) starting at 3:46:

Thanks for considering doing this! :)

And apologies for hijacking this thread, wendylou!

I would think that a flanger / chorus is definitely involved in the first example... ;)

Thanks Dimi! Perfect! The delay line with flanger settings was the secret sauce. I don't have Caliburn amp but it still sounds good with Vermillion
