Sorry for marketing my stuff here, but all I would do, would be me buying some beer for the income.
I paintshopped these graphics for the T-shirts and a mug.

My apologies for spamming here.

I was gonna say that. Would be nice as well to see all these on a different colour background.

I had to remove these Reason logo'd items as the Props didn't allow me to use their logo on them. I didn't sell any of these though anyway. Bummer! I hoped they would jump in and make a deal with me, but NO.

I wish all the fearure suggestions would also be copyrighted, so people would get income from their brain-work.

I guess it would be ok for you, if i take your songs, your graphics, your ideas and all you ever created and sell it for my pocket.

It's not as black and white as I see it. If I would develope a music DAW then I wouldn't mind people using it's Icon graphic. In other cases I might have an issue, as example people selling graphics, that are exact copies and were exclusively made for T-shirts or mugs. My opinion anyway.

Make a deal? I mean, you just added some lines and some extremely low resolution screws to the already established Reason logo.. am I missing something here?

I applaud you for your entrepreneurship. Companies protect their brand though. Try not to take it personally. Some big companies such as ... err better not be specific... spend a lot of money tracking down and removing unwanted use of their logos, trademarks etc.

True story i once interviewed for a company who specialised in removing these infringements. I did a 2h interview test and politely walked out after half an hour. It was such boring work!

I understand this policy by Props, but still hoped for them to let me use Reason logo on my designs, because A) Their own designs back in the days weren't for me B) Because it's ME deepndark C) Because I woulda advertise their logo on the streets.

Well, i expected this answer that is the reason why i warned you. Better this way and you do not need to meet their advocate. And my quote was the answer, maybe not explicitly enough: Relax, just imagine someone would sell your logo in a way you are not agreeing to. Why there are copyright laws and trademarks -to prevent others to misuse your intellectual property.

Yes that was a bit rude of me. I thought you were trying to make profit from Prophellerheads Reason logo with minor modifications. I'm sure you can understand why that would be ridiculous.

I don't aim to make logos more cluttered, if the simple one is already good for me. Anyway, the first two people liked my logos here and also many on the FB. Go figure. But this mug got lots of the people wanna get one. Sadly, business is not always meaning the product sucked, but people ...

Here's the white one once again. (I removed all the items from the store and didn't make any money).

A question, is it legal to buy this mug only to yourself then?

Actually you can be really happy that the Props simply contacted you and asked you to remove the merch. Some other companies might have sent a cease and desist letter straight away (including the expenses for their lawyer for you to pay).

Technically, all copyright or trademark infringement is illegal, unless it qualifies under Fair Use (which, as a caveat, may not apply in all countries).

The more germane question is: would PH send their lawyers after you if you had one cup made for your own private use. Probably they wouldn't, as it would be cost-prohibitive to litigate such a thing.

Yea, that fair use and copyright thing also might be a problem if you just create a tshirt for yourself, that means it may be prohibited to print a logo on a shirt just for you without permission.

The whole pirating thing can be really amusing though. The net is full of pirate-sites and the lawyers do nothing about it. But when someone makes few mugs then half of the world is like "How dare you"? And propably most of them have downloaded unlegal music at some point themself.
