I'm looking for a Ring Mod that can reproduce the ring of the SP1200 when the 1/4 jacks are inputted half way.
I want to be able to have that artifact sound
From what i know Only the MPC Live and X currently have this function.
I'd like to recreate it

Not familiar with the particular sound you're describing, but if you're not confining yourself to REs and willing to go down the VST path, MeldaProductions have an excellent freebie https://www.meldaproduction.com/MRingModulator
It's very tweakable and versatile, I love it. Much more functional than anything in the RE market except maybe Strontium 90, which is also cool - ring mod and much more besides - but has a weird bug that means you have to route it manually. A bit of a hassle but worth the effort imo, it's a great device https://shop.propellerheads.se/rack-ext ... ontium-90/
The Synapse RM-1 ring mod delivers a nice thick sound, but is maybe a bit basic and a little on the pricey side for what you get https://shop.propellerheads.se/rack-ext ... modulator/

best, with cv note sync option (in vst version without it).

p/s Dont forget about RM in stock devices - Kong, Malstrom and Screamer.
Do you find the audible principal difference between RM in Kong and AM filter mode in Malstrom?
the best

the free

also you can recreate one with an LFo, but I would go with the kilohearts

What you're looking for is something that emulates Ring Mode not Ring Mod(ulation). There's a video on YouTube demoing the feature and it disables the SP1200's filter so you can hear all the digital noise.
You need to be looking at bitcrushers. Having demoed a few I'd recommend the D16 one.

+1 for Pulveriser. Not only the LFO freq goes really high, but you can modulate with external audio signals as well.
I happen to really like ReSampler as well.dioxide wrote: ↑01 Feb 2018What you're looking for is something that emulates Ring Mode not Ring Mod(ulation). There's a video on YouTube demoing the feature and it disables the SP1200's filter so you can hear all the digital noise.

But what you're looking for is 12-bit, 26khz or below (i'm guessing its the low-fi mode you're after)
The best ring mod for Reason is Synapse's RM-1. It actually sounds similar to a Moog MF-102 (most other digital ring mods do not!).
For bit and samplerate reduction, check out D16's Decimort 2.

I currently have the d16 and have demos the kilo and synapse ones
I demod/trialed the resampler a while back not knowing what I was going after.

Just a few months ago I realised that aliasing is like ring modulation. It's that non musical, false, tonality which can be interesting. It's the opposite of harmonic distortion.

OMG, RM with a weight of 200 mib ...dvdrtldg wrote: ↑31 Jan 2018MeldaProductions have an excellent freebie https://www.meldaproduction.com/MRingModulator
Sidechain is input of side signal for amplitude modulation of base signal.
Like this: where audio in3 is sidechain.

Yep, gonna have to say, very much in the kHs corner when it comes to ring-modulation. Just so much to work with. It's not a basic ring-mod. Very useful for all sorts of noise and harmonics.
That's the size of the entire Melda product line all-in-one installer.ljekio wrote: ↑07 Feb 2018OMG, RM with a weight of 200 mib ...dvdrtldg wrote: ↑31 Jan 2018MeldaProductions have an excellent freebie https://www.meldaproduction.com/MRingModulator
One of solutions for Ringmod - is HarmBode
https://shop.propellerheads.se/rack-ext ... y-shifter/
Classical Freq-shifters is only half-ringmod, but if Mix of Up and Down sidebands symmetrical, its can be true Ringmod effect.

Second that - both stand out among other RM and Bit-crushers (compared to all RE/VSTs I've tried). The RE by Bcase is fun too, a bit difficult to dial in but super nice and different from Decimort.bsp wrote: ↑02 Feb 2018The best ring mod for Reason is Synapse's RM-1. Interesting that people are mentioning bit crushers. Ring Modulation causes ghost frequencies like aliasing, not harmonic.
Aliasing is often seen as a issue but you also see it as ring modulation
