The brain, not reality
And yeah @Aosta, DMT is a good way to experience consciousness without the idea of self or anything - makes it much easier to separate brain and consciousness Erm, did I say good? Of course I mean illegal
Either the brain creates reality (Consciousness) or the brain is a receiver of reality (Consciousness).

In my late teens/early 20s I began to "think deeply" about all this stuff in this thread. It made me very unhappy and depressed for some reason.
I feel that it's better to not think about things that I will never understand, so that I can focus my brain power towards something that makes me happy. Music

Let's first find a reason for this...
Well considering DMT is in the body of every human being naturally then we are all illegal by default.
Just being alive is a crime
Tend the flame
People are scared because they know there is no escape from death. Yet no one was scared of being dead before they were born. I love asking questions I know I'll have zero answers for. Would humans ever fly and how one day? Now who cares. A new continent beyond the horizon maybe? Now who cares. Are we alone in the universe? This will be a future "now who cares".aeox wrote: ↑07 Jun 2018And if it didn't code itself, who coded the coder? And who coded the coder of the coder?

I laugh it off and I am happy I can ask questions because I know I float in the ocean of probabilities and incertitude.
Make music. Keep asking why reality is the way it is. Never be scared because 'Control' is an illusion.

The cycles of chickens and eggs, creator and created, then the created becomes the creator.
Its like we only exist if we recreate ourselves.

Thats really just an inverse version of the "everything is conscious" explanation. Because you can't separate the processes in your brain from stars colliding or chemicals dissolving in any way thats relevant to "experience". So you basically say any information change is an experience and as "experience" is the only thing we REALLY know and we call that "being conscious" you are effectively say everything is conscious Thats what Max Tegmark says, consciousness is what information feels like when it flows. Otherwise you again end up with the same problem Rupert Sheldrake addresses, you can't assign a function to consciousness.

I was just saying that it's not very productive to try to comprehend something that is impossible to comprehend. The more we know, the more we realize that we actually know nothing!

'Very unhappy and depressed for some reason' VS 'the love of embracing the unknown by always asking the difficult questions with impossible answers'.

yeah always liked that 'embracing the unknown'
although I am analytical. kinda strange because I love the unkown much better.
it's like a trap, trying to find answers. there are none.

There is still no spoon... We are our own creators. From my experience: everything within me is from within me. However. We don't know, what we don't know. So as long as we don't know how "Things" (put anything you like in here) works we can just watch/listen/feel what others are telling us. How do we know that we know. What IS consciousness? Some philosopher suggested back in the beginning of philosophy to get rid of "IS" and just express relative experience from a subjective perspective. Our brain probably is a tricky beast tricking itself, whereas I believe we didn't even discover a bit of it's potential. I trully believe we can control our body down to the DNA with our brain (by imagination) and whatever sense you use. Hypnosis and other areas of "Human Engineering" have some really interesting things about this to show.normen wrote: ↑07 Jun 2018Our brain is a big VR simulator using data from probes like our eyes and ears, always refining the simulation based on experience and stored data (memories). Is your brain doing this? Might be a factor we all are not aware of right now.
Rupert puts it pretty well in the video above when he says that if you believe that consciousness is a result of brain operation you have to deal with some other facts coming from that. You will in the end _have to_ say that consciousness only experiences for some reason but can't do anything - basically a bug because it cannot have a function. (This isn't just my opinion it's due to how in that case the "universe controls your brain" - again the video above starts to explain it if you're interested)
No matter how it works, can you leverage your brain in useful way? Actually I think the average of human mankind is on autopilot, because this makes life easy.

Sure we can modify our DNA, we already know that - and in a very abstract way too, which is pretty amazing. But I don't know how consciousness could be primary. No matter what you believe or your consciousness does your brain will be splattered when you jump down a building. You know by now theres scientists that say that your digestive system has it's own consciousness, like literally like an animal living inside you communicating with you. That'd explain a lot of the communication channels of the body, less looking for the "wire" and the "ones an zeroes" and instead looking at it like two organisms gesticulating.theshoemaker wrote: ↑08 Jun 2018There is still no spoon...
