I've not gotten much info at all, except rumours... about Roland releasing an analog synth again after all these years; the JD-Xi, which also has been flying around as a quite bad picture since a japanese artist posted it on the net at new years' eve. Talk is about Yamaha releasing something new. Korg will introduce the re-release of the Arp Odyssey. But here's one of the first news: Moog is re-introducing the modular systems from 1964. System 15, System 35, System 55. They look exactly the same as the ones used by the Beatles and Wendy Carlos. In a few days we'll learn more. But it has been said that this is the most synthesizer-intense year at NAMM for many years. I like that.

I'm still working on purchasing someday an old Jupiter synth. I would rather buy old school then new.

I don't even know what to make of that Teenage Engineering pocket synth but I like their creativity as always!

At least it's a cheaper offering of something.  Much cheaper.  Could be a fun little toy.  I am a fan of the Korg Monotrons and this is right up that alley and price range.  Synthtopia reports $59.

If that Korg Sequencer is $200-$400 it's can't lose.

My guess is $159 (right in line with the Volca Series) or cheaper.

New SoftTube Transient Shaper plugin. However it looks like no Re. Hopefully just yet and they will port it or designed it to be portable.

Akai showed two analog synths: Timbre Wolf and Tom Cat drum synthesizer. But in demo videos it sounds rather mediocre.

I watches several videos about Timbre Wolf. Am I the only one who thinks this synth sounds shitty :? ?? Or is it 'cause it's always demoed by the same untalented guy :P ???

Why do we need it?
Just use MCLASS STEREO IMAGER or YOKO BAND SPLITTER and DCAM ENV SHAPER.
Why spend $ 99?
Ableton Live Suite 10 / Reason 10 / Windows 10 / Fingers - also 10 ;)

I totally dig the monotron level of product (they are just plain fun to mess around with) but I was confused by the "video game" happening at the top of the Teenage Engineering things haha.

In other NAMM news it seems many people are getting butthurt about Slate offering a subscription model for their plugins. Excited about the POD HD update from Line 6 as well as the Peavey 6505 Mini amp for my guitar needs!

I'm really liking the Phenol, looks very cool and affordable:

On a side note, I thought Casio's Star Trek themed devices seemed quite lame, especially in such a saturated market.
