There are some great gadgets in there, like u-he BazilleCM or Vengeance Producer Suite Scope (great analyzing tool). Some of them are 32bit only, but they are nicely categorized into folders and most of the stuff is x64.
About a month ago, I subscribed specifically for access to the download vault. VPS Scope sealed the deal for me (and also turned into a gateway that led me to purchase VPS Avenger). :D ;)

Cygnus...all day. Krakli makes some great stuff, with a new synth just about every month on his FB page.

Also, I'd be nekkid without my De La Mancha plugins.

Then there's the ElektroStudio. Those are all gold in my book.

Majkin plugins are fantastic. Chimera is a constant in my synth rack. So much pad goodness.

If you are on windows ... Audulus might be something for Modular lovers. http://audulus.com/

I didn't like the iPad version, because I don't use a keyboard on the iPad, but for a desktop makes more sense.

Only if you also own jbridge, they are 32bit only

They are also old synthmaker plugs, you'll find alot of synthmaker stuff out there, some are hidden gems, most are crap that are just using stock modules wired together. They are also usually 32bit only

Synth1 is a real gem... I have seen people who real master this synth and they does not change it for anything... Look in YouTube this guy... almost everything is synth1: https://www.youtube.com/user/cagpek/videos

The GUI/UX of Synth1 is almost painful to look at... like a bare bottom RE.. but it's supremely awesome for a free synth, and what Synthofsynth Sound Design does on his YouTube channel is incredible for reproducing some 80's classics with that thing. The only other person I've ever seen (heard) that good is EditEd4TV (who is still the master of 80's covers, IMHO - and using 100% Reason no less)!

Crystal VST
Been around for some time. Quite well respected. Free. If I knew how to post an image I would, but go to the site to see.

http://www.greenoak.com/crystal/about.html

From the About Page:

What's Crystal?

Crystal is a semi-modular software synthesizer featuring both subtractive synthesis and frequency modulation (FM) synthesis. It offers abundant modulation control with over 90 parameters which may be modulated, multi-stage envelopes with graphical editors, extensive tempo sync of envelopes/lforates/delay times, built-in effects for chorus/flanging/comb filtering/echoes, and a band splitter for effects processing by frequency band. Not only that, Crystal has wave sequencing, granular synthesis, program morphing, MIDI learn, and imports soundfonts. The musical applications for Crystal are literally boundless.

Crystal is a plugin, which means it runs within a host, such as Cubase, Orion, Logic, Fruity Loops, etc.

Listen to examples of what kinds of music people are making with Crystal by visiting the Demos page using the link at the top of this page.

Great for Synthwave (and other genres).

That's pretty bad ass - thanks for sharing that! This is supposed to be a Roland JX8'Ps PG-800, right? Would be awesome if it actually came with the JX8P's factory soundbanks.
I've run this synth through a different VST host on my PC, and played it alongside my real JX-8P, and very impressed with the emulation so far!

When A-B comparison, the real JX sounds more 'liquid' than the software, but if you weren't comparing them side by side, you probably would never know the difference. Even the classic Soundtrack patch sounds really excellent in this emulation. It is amazing that it is free!

Yes, it's definitely "ugly". But the advantage of this approach (vector graphics) is nice scalability of the UI in the settings.

I've been trying out the free VSTs available for download to readers of Computer Music (Uk magazine) and I can report some of them are pretty solid. They have a wide range from synth, samplers, drum machines, dynamics etc. These aren't freeware - but either specifically created for CM or LITE versions of full-versions.

Anyway... you don't need to subscribe. Just buy a single copy of the mag. And also - I'm not affiliated to the magazine... so this is a real user review... not a plug for my own publication! Enjoy.

Ignite Amps PTEq-X - very good Pultec emulation. Comparable with Nomad Factory or IK Multimedia. Free!

Another good vst people may want to get onto, is from Sonic Charge (Echobode, Bitspeek, Synplant) and it's Cyclone. It's a free vst emulation of the Yamaha TX16W FM synth, found here:

Confusing with TX816 FM Synthesizer rack? TX16W was Yamaha's Sampler with that infamous user interface...

Sorry TX16W Sampler. My bad. It's 'cause when I was looking at a Yamaha TX something or other before that it was stated online it was an FM synth or whatever I was looking at was.

This one is great! I love using the dip on heavy guitars. It just smooths things out nicely in the high mids. The selectable tube emulations are a cool feature as well. Come to think of it....I use this EQ more than the Pultec emu I paid for!
