In the old days of reasonstation I learned that 'less is more'. So the DSP in this have to be rather amazing for me to choose it over Waves OneKnob series.

Looks to me like it ate one too many, suffered explosive evacuation of the bowel and subsequent catastrophic rectal prolapse.

Nice!

Have you ever tried designing a minimal but very functional interface?

Check this iPad app out for an example of an intuitive yet functional display:

Thanks for posting, interesting application, in which the waveform is adjusted by point's. It actually similar to what I've had in mind to the front end of Hypertribe in the control of parameters below. I'm also looking at integrating alternate control methods of the sequencers so that controls can be switched alternately between buttons and bar level controls with the output wave form being visually shown adjusted with what ever parameter is being manipulated.

Addititional info..about Hypertribe

The X1 synth current has a line of blue sliders down the left hand side, these are actually the mix level inputs for each of the oscillators (LL1 LL2 ect...) where the actual oscillators are to the other side where they themselves are manipulated by additional controls ( the green ones). SYN 1 & SYN 2 are 2 additional oscillator engines each of which are fed through filtering sliders to the right (1 to 8 not labelled at present, delay controls above). These LL1 LL2 ... controls are there currently for easy access atm and would be hidden and controllable from a screen overlay. This would also mean that some other automation elements would not necessarily need to be visible and there for simplifing the existing GUI as it is at present.

The Hypertribe project is much about exploring creative possibilities in new and different ways as much as creating and building a GUI. The way I do stuff is to build it up and strip it down to it's core components I want to use, because I know once I've built them I can re-use them in other projects where they are all neatly arranged.

Then again, why promote your stuff and rail about REs on one of the largest places for the Reason community? Isn't that somewhat counterproductive? A Reaktor forum maybe? Or do you want people to think like you? ;)

A proper 1080p video would also fit the size of the GUI itself and show more details.

Oh I could respond in many ways, I have opinion and have my reasons to your first quire, but I'm keeping on track/topic, which is I think is more interesting and productive. I plan on a full screen video soon, but there are some changes and updates I want to do first before that :)

Just as productive as to mention REs in comparison was? ;) Same rules for everybody, no?

I didn't realise there was an RE police squad running around. :D

The next video I'm gonna do a bit more of demo of the multi-oscillated X1 Synth which I didn't really do in the first video, just a little bit in the beginning. At the moment, it's pretty complex, the LL1 strip ( oscillator mix levels) need to be set up correctly to get the desired sound, it's kinda like a matrix but it's a lot of fun :D

ScottyM & minimal?!! That would be something to see. But I'm not sure it's even remotely possible.

I've seen worse ensembles. It was the sound that made me load up the free Blue Chip refill. Yup...I'll pass. Got noise a plenty.

Interestingly it's never crashed, only happened when creating an internal feedback loop when connecting up nodes the wrong way. :) The instrument requires a fairly powerful pc/mac however, certain features such as enabling the additional 2 oscillator sound processing engines on X1 ( the blue synth ), will ramp up the CPU load by 30%. It currently consumes around 50% CPU load idle on my Intel I7 920 at 3.3 Ghz. (2009 model).

I'll see if I can get the video screencast software I have working to show it in it's current operation. Just bear in mind that some elements may be changed later on down the track.

In other news, how's that Kong 909 refill coming along from what's his face?

'Sorry for the temporary interruption viewers'

Now, news on developments...

The past few days I have been busy with Hypertribe, the area in which are the filters being used on the X1 mono synth, there are now an additional 2 different types of filters being used. Comb filtering and the other called accurate filtering which incorporates multiple filter band types to select from.

Additional global filtering options are being added to main DSP section so the main output is passed to multi-band cutoff parameters. These changes aid in providing thick smooth tones as well as additioanal air to the sound. Addition FX is currently being added to the lower right area of the instrument where other parameter controls which were experimental have been moved out of the way in this area.

Additional space has been added between knobs and buttons.

Thanks, it was just a matter of time, if you got the commitment and time, you can achieve your goals :-)

I have some exciting idea's with future Interactive GUI's. In fact there are other futuristic GUI developments which have been created and completed which have not made the interwebs yet.

All I can do after reading this is laugh, and not at the statement but at what appears to me to be a possible truth which you may have personally realised ,it seems ,quite some time ago! :s0225:
