Are you smoking tobacco?
Yeah, yeah... But I'm starting to think the way this world is going, 10 years less might not be that bad...HepCat wrote:Sorped wrote:I smoke about a pack a day, once in a while I use a pipe. Well, maybe not, nevertheless - I've heard of people smoking a cigar everyday and getting to almost 100 years of age. And I've heard of people living oh so healthy lives, never do anything "bad" and still die from a stroke at 58 years of age. I'll take my chances. I don't drink alcohol so that should give a bit of extra time anyway
No, you don't "get it". At all.gak wrote: You're like all the kiddies over at the indian gaming casino. A bunch of people that "don't smoke" but do there.
Gotta admit, even if you were kidding, it's pretty lame.
Now all the vapers have switched over to cigs (we already have a couple of shops that went under, but not the hooka ones )
Shit is nasty. Drinking, drugs, I get it. Cigs (especially how expensive they are) just don't make any sense. They only do anything to you the first few times you smoke.

Gak, nicotine is a highly addictive stimulant that goes hand in hand with alcohol which is a depressant. Together they cause a kind of pull and tug interaction in the brain. As for your gambling reference, it affects the brain like a drug - more specifically similar to cocaine. That toke of stimulating nicotine feels good when they are sitting at the slot machine and I imagine it's more of a crutch when they are losing. I certainly hope there aren't any underage youth at your local casino.Gorgon wrote:No, you don't "get it". At all.

After smoking for about 30 years I switched to vaping last year. Much better for my health, my appartment doesn't smell like an exhaust pipe any longer and when waking up in the morning I don't have this dragon taste in my mouth .

I read somewhere that nicotine increases the effects of other "feel good" chemicals in the brain. Which is the reason why people like to reach for a cigarette post-coitus or after a meal.Peter wrote:gak wrote: You're like all the kiddies over at the indian gaming casino. And nicotine is not technically a pure stimulant. It is in small doses but larger ones produce more of a depressive effect. It's one of the few substances that possess this paradoxical quality which has a specific cool sounding name which I can't recall.
Ambient garage vibes.
You're aware that birds already started using the cigarette butts? They build them into their nests because the nicotine keeps away mitesgak wrote:I get one thing
Anyways, if someone wants to smoke nasty flavored paper with laced nicotine and a filter that will last the next few years, it's your fucking problem.

*though I'm not sure that is untrue. Seems perfectly logical in a crazy world.
