I'm getting a Bad Error message Loading a Song after I hit save and reopen it. Now they will not open!
I tried Save As and it's causing the same problem. Mostly songs that were originally created 6 months to a year ago are having this problem.
They were saving and playing fine yesterday before 9.2.

have you save the song with a rack extension in beta testing maybe or Reason 9 beta?
I had some almost similar issues ...
What is the error exactly?

Hi,
I have Never had a Beta Version. I even deleted all of the tracks and just have Kong Running Cymbals and hit save.
Then when I try to reopen I get the Bad Error. Just Kong running alone it's giving me that error and want let me load.

maybe.. I say maybe some corrupted sample than kong can't load causes the bad format... anyway you need to contact Props if you don't find a solution.

I loaded a Random song and deleted everything including Kong and kept Predator and saved as a new song and now that new song is a bad format. The old song will load fine without errors, it's the minute I save any changes and reload the changed song. I contacted Props earlier today, thank you for responding.

Anyone else having this issue?
If the update is causing problems, I might consider postponing the upgrade to 9.2.

A Song was just sent to Propellerheads and many songs that I created with Reason 6.5, 7, 8 now do this.
Only songs that I created in 9 or later open without any problems, even after saving and naming it differently they will open perfectly.

As far as old songs, I can open an old song one time that was first created in 6.5 and was last saved in 9.1 before the 9.2 update.
After the one time the next time becomes a bad error or if I go to Save As and rename it, It will also have the bad error.

Thanks! We have reproduced the problem and have a hunch what the root cause is. Working on a fix. No information in the song is lost.

Hi,
The Song I sent is a one track Example of the error, a "Save AS" of the original track. If I even Dare to hit Save on the Original Full Song, not even Save As, It will give me a Bad Error and won't open ever again. Many Songs are doing this but only the songs I made before Reason 9.

Thank You for Your Hard Work!

I just had it: The song contain a bad file and cannot ber opened... good...

What I have done:
Download reason 9.2: Ok!
Open Song: Ok!
Open a combinator with trial RE inside in cardboard boxes: Ok!
Download trials RE, Save song with the new combinator inside.... close and reopen.... ouch....

I wish folk would put at least the platform they are using. Is it Mac specific?

I'm trying this on a Windows 10 machine with a wide range of old songs, amending and saving in 9.2 and not getting any errors when re-loading them.

Here is an UPDATE from PROPS on the 9.2 BUG!

It seems that our R&D guys have found what's causing this:

If you load a Reason song document or a combi-patch that includes a non-installed Rack Extension and then (re)save the song using Reason 9.2 the song can't be opened (and shows up with a "Bad Format" alert).

We are currently working on fixing the bug and will release an automatic bug-fix update shortly.

Please note that your song documents are NOT destroyed in any way - you will be able to open them again in the bug-fix update just fine.

Ostermilk was right! 9.2.1 is on the way!

Thanks for the detail. It helps to know the circumstances that cause it in the meantime before the fix arrives.

Good work on flaging it up promptly, we all benefit from that.
