What developers would you like to see support the RE format?
(In addition to those who already do.)
For me it's u-He. Their synths are all lovely and a lot of fun. Bazille in particular could be a great RE, utilizing Reason's modular emulation format. (Or the stripped down version they made for CM as a budget RE.)

Toontrack!!
There are workarounds to get EZdrummer working with Reason, but it would be so much better to have it integrated inside Reason. The RE wouldn't even need to have all the esoteric features of EZdrummer or EZkeys - just to be able to access the Toontrack kits/samples, MIDI files, and playback engine within Reason would be awesome.

Even though it would be nice to have new developers getting into the RE format, I actually care more about keeping some developers we have onboard already.
I really hope Synapse Audio, Blamsoft, Softube, DLD Technology and LoveOne won't stop creating for Reason anytime soon.
Synapse and Blamsoft really made a big difference for me with their latest releases The Legend and Expanse. I suspect these will be my go to synths for the next year or so.
I was really glad to see The Legend in the Prop Shop. I was starting to wonder if we lost Synapse for a while.
I'm a little afraid Softube might stop making REs because their products are on the pricier side and based on what I read here at Reasontalk some Reason users expect REs to be very cheap. And they probably make enough money in the VST market where people are actually prepared to pay a little more for plugins.
DLD Technology and LoveOne might not be the biggest developers but they just make fun and unique stuff that's a little different.
These are just a couple of personal favorites but obviously there are many other great RE developers that deserve to be mentioned also.

Matt Tytel (I know he made little LFO, but Helm would be really sweet. Speaking of which, does open source mean that one could take the code and release it as a RE?)
And AIR audio. (Love me some XPAND)
I can't remember who makes the Tunefish Synth, but that one would be awesome too.

it's released under GNU GPL v3 so technically "yes" but you'd also have to freely release the source to the edited RE version, and the RE SDK licensing model is probably incompatible with that, given it's "clandestine" nature :/TheGuyNotNamedBob wrote:Matt Tytel (I know he made little LFO, but Helm would be really sweet. I'd like to see AAS (Applied Acoustic Systems) get in the game, to have Chromaphone in the Rack. They do have some other instruments that would probably be of interest to those who like the virtual analog things.
Xfer's Serum would be nice, and I'd love to have iZotope's Iris and Breaktweaker in Reason (Trash 2, too), as well as some of the more esoteric synths from NI, BUUUUT once again even disregarding any of the other reasons those companies might not want to go for the RE format, without sample loading in the RE SDK a lot of those synths are functionally impossible to make.

And I'd add Lectric Panda and Jiggery Pokery Sound to the list. Devices from those guys are a big part of why I continue to work in Reason

Ah. Too bad. Is there a possibility of the license being changed? like the VST version is under GNU GPL v3, and the RE is under the normal RE license?zero01101 wrote:it's released under GNU GPL v3 so technically "yes" but you'd also have to freely release the source to the edited RE version, and the RE SDK licensing model is probably incompatible with that, given it's "clandestine" nature :/TheGuyNotNamedBob wrote:Matt Tytel (I know he made little LFO, but Helm would be really sweet.
