Looking for a good bit crusher in Reason for drums.
I like this one
https://shop.propellerheads.se/product/ ... istortion/
But its overpriced. I cannot recommend one RE only, because i often use combinations with Saturation Knob, Scream4, Thor or Malstroem shapers, Devestator, amps and others.
For real fat crunchy drums you should have a battery of sound destroyers, also limiters and compressors.

Decimtor 2 is fire. Already own the VST and I still purchased the RE. Normally I paying twice for something would turn me off but I use it so often for so many things it's completely worth it.

I feel like a broken record when it comes to Decimort, but it's easily my favorite bitcrusher on any platform, be it VST/AU/RE. Many can pull off the obvious, but subtlety is where it shines beyond any other I've worked with.
Music is nothing else but wild sounds civilized into time and tune.
Decimort is great. Defenitely the highest quality sound in bitcrushers available for reason.
For creative control of the way the bits are mangled i'm quite fond of BeatCrush by Nucleus Soundlab (https://shop.propellerheads.se/product/ ... istortion/) the way you can work on the individual bits is unique.

Yes, I have Decimort and love it. And I also love BeatCrush. I find I use both equally and even sometimes together.eauhm wrote:Decimort is great. Defenitely the highest quality sound in bitcrushers available for reason.

Decimort 2 is still the best and on the 2nd place Beatcrush. Both are really good crushers and has different possibilities
Resampler amazing. Very simple and effective control, and varied sound.Zerosity wrote:I still haven't tried Decimort mostly because I've been perfectly happy with Blamsoft's Resampler for my needs.

I haven't tried Decimort, but I too like "Nucleus Soundlab 'beat crush'" I think it's versatile.

Thanks for all the help.
Before Decimort 2 came out, I would have said Blamsoft's Resampler. Resampler is excellent and I was 100% satisfied with it crushing all my bitcrushing needs. Then I hit the try button when Decimort went on sale in May and it was all over. I used to use Resampler all the time, but since I got Decimort, Resampler has taken a back seat.... all the way to the back of the bus. Resampler is amazing, but Decimort 2 is much more amazingerere!

I bought decimort at full price and it was completely worth it, brings incredibly convincing sp1200 or mpc flavor to your drums
I like using Rp distort , many algorithms , including bitcrush

Speaking of NSL, does anyone know what happened to their site? http://nucleus-soundlab.com/cgi-sys/suspendedpage.cgi
Are they out of business?
Are they out of business?

Just tried Decimort 2 on the back of reading this thread. It's so much more powerful than the blamsoft RE that I've been using. Thanks for the heads up guys!
