Hi all,

some Gear in Reason use a "Note Shift Trick" to create some Chords (or Poly Notes) inside a single CV-Note Cable.

Please, can someone code a "NOTE MERGER RE", which works on this principle?

My Imagination:

Connect 4x Matrix to the new "Note Merger RE" and the Notes will be merged to a single (Poly) CV-Note Out.

THANKS FOR !

Look at Hamu Mingler.... Bui it only merges two inputs, so you need to use multiple instances of it.

2 Notes also are possible with the Combinator trick..

Not at DAW PC right now, but what happens if you merge the CV note signals with the CV Spider? It will be only one Note/pitch?

No. It only sums the levels of the incoming signals together.

Do you mean Blamsoft Poly CV?

Yes, what?

I'm disappointed that so far AFAIK, only Blamsoft has created any instrument supporting PolyCV input. It would be great to see more instrument RE's supporting this!

It would indeed-- I like Blamsofts approach to modular/poly
If more developers took it on it could potentially bring more REs in term of filters etc that you could make quite cool modular synths with:
-several oscillators, like the ammo 100, viking, A-series, wiz-audios
-distortion effects, chorus effects etc
-LFOs
-etc
You pick the best you like a create a modular synth.
Right now A-series, Blamsoft and Jiggery have different solutions
Would be cool to have it aligned!
I think poly-cv could play a role in that

I've love to add Blam's poly cv to at least Ammo 100 and Charlotte. But PB are busy right now so I can't get the coding done.

Take one Matrix inside the Combinator directly connected to the Synth (CV Note and Gate)
Take one Matrix outside the Combinator that is connected to the Combinator. (CV Note and Gate)

If both Matrix´s play a Note at the same Time, your Synth will have a 2 Voice Polyphony.
thats it.

But the trick is limited to 2 Voices.

So,.. A 4-8 Note Merger RE would be very cool ;)

Ah! Good trick.

Don't forget to check out the Mingler.  ;)
It's fairly easy to add more than one for more voices.

For more voices you could try the free CV-8 Gateway, but AFAIK it will not handle notes arriving at exactly the same time, which is the case with synced devices like Matrixes.
The Mingler on the other hand, handles this by automatically separating the signals by a millisecond when (and only when) needed. Plus some optional functions for how to mingle the notes & gates.

I use the korde with two minglers.
Part 1 of the korde plays mono bass line.
part 2,3 and4 are merged with two minglers and go into a thor or predator.
works great.
