Republik Handheld Percussion in the shop!
It was killing me waiting for this, I knew in the back of my mind though that being a JP device this is going to be thorough and on point - which it is.
Only spent half an hour with it last night and found it incredibly inspiring. Thanks JP, your devices are taking Reason to new levels!

Woah, this is way cooler than I thought it was going to be!! Awesome sound quality, tonnes of content. Very, very impressed. If I had one suggestion it'd maybe be a sample start control? Would be really cool for glitchy, ambient and chilled stuff (that uses a lot of chopped, jangly samples). Otherwise yeah, I'm getting this next month without a doubt
I'm going to have to get this (even with the $NZD exchange rate!) - I can imagine that percussion + synth will make some good Jan Hammer/Miami Vice style music!!
Well I bought it and it really is excellent! Very inspiring. I bought it for the verbatim sounds, but the sample mangling and creative sound design is brilliant.
Well done Matt - oh and Happy Birthday!

So I'm working with this for an assignment - it's actually saved my butt, in a way!! One question; will it be possible in a future update to have the main picture area clickable so that a menu expands to list all of the instruments? Scrolling through one at a time is kinda long! Although certainly not a deal breaker
*Edit: did just find out that you can click and drag up and down on the image to scroll through them, so that's pretty cool!

The pop-up menu list option is available on the front-folded view!
i'm sad to say the price is too steep for my blood..... especially when i have tons of perc samples sitting on my HDD already, not to mention a box of goodies some bongos and a decent mic ready. might consider during a sale! interesting RE to say the least though
Sucks huhJagwah wrote:Man that exchange rate to AUS dollar is killing me here. $99 now or $130 after the intro period...
I bought it, but it hurt
Its actually on sale now. 25% off.GRIFTY wrote:i'm sad to say the price is too steep for my blood..... especially when i have tons of perc samples sitting on my HDD already, not to mention a box of goodies some bongos and a decent mic ready. might consider during a sale! interesting RE to say the least though
Oh wow, really? I'm both blind and legally retarded so I could never have noticed this. Thanks for pointing it out!! I think I'll pass still however, 75$ is still too steep. I would consider it more in the 20$-40$ range. Maybe it's just not for me! As I said, I already have access to a ton of real perc so, c'est la vie!!
Yeah I'm much in the same boat. I've got all my percussion toys here and I have the World Booster pack which covers pretty well some other stuff.GRIFTY wrote:Oh wow, really? When you consider the work that would have gone in to it, and also the great usability for the end user - the price is definitely justified.
I would love to pick it up and thought I would but I just can't bite on this right now, perhaps a black Friday sale or something like that.

I partially bought it for educational value. I like having the little picture, I have always wondered what some of those instruments look like!
Hey,
I made for Jiggery-Pokery another Shop-Song. You will hear the natural sound of the Republik Handheld RE.
Enjoy my music and let me know what do you think about it
