(RaveTechno) RTFX | Double Espresso

[RTFX]

It’s Rave Season!!
Heavily saturated, heavily compressed, grainy and loud.
That’s this track in a nutshell.
I created this sound by applying the above and by experimenting with tape recording.
I bought an old cassette tape recorder at the thrift shop and recorded the complete track and some busses separately with Audacity.
I kept the result I liked best.
Imported the track back into Reason to do some final eq-ing and done!

Actually, I sampled the stab from one of the records in my collection and mangled it by throwing it through my chain of destruction. I mean distortion.

Love the kick rumble. The structure is pretty solid and the melody coming in with the vocals starts at a good time. Mix is good too, definitely has a lot of warmth and thickness to it

Same here. It was a very organic and fluid period for electronic music in the UK, a working class movement which I doubt will ever be repeated. The hateful Tory government (backed by tabloid reading joyless old people) curtailed it with legislation still used to this day to confiscate PA equipment and shut down any gatherings. There's still people mooching about in a haze from it

Pretty sure the stab is from Landlord - I like it. It's known as the Landlord Stab and has been sampled a bazillion times, re-pitched and time stretched all over place, at all sorts of different tempos. Hence it always sounds a bit different!

That's bad dude! Make me feel like I'm in listening to early Mars FM 103.1 back in the day. The long kick sound and deep bass make me feel like I was at the raves. So dope.
