Curious to hear ya'll thoughts. Any feedback is welcome. Mimi offered me the project file of a recent film score type track. I turned it into darkwave/synthwave. For the main hook and intro is all her melodies with my percussion. Then there is a darkwave beat switch done by me

I'm liking it, though I think it's missing a riser or something to introduce the main groove, the transition is very abrupt. Could be a drum fill instead of a riser, but something to say "Get ready!".

The synth lead sticks around too long in the darkwave section. We need a break

And I guess I would suggest that there's too much going on for too much of the tune. Some parts could be dropped out and brought back for some more contrast?

Thank you for the feedback. Perhaps I could have introduced my part in such a way although I didn’t analyze it too much since I put the “switch” vocal effect right before transition. As for needing more breaks, that’s an interesting point I’ll look into
