fantastic! classical, straight and beautiful. if i wanted to criticise anything id say the kick and snare could have more power.

Really good track, I thought the melodic aspects were well mixed throughout. I agree with Chizmata that the drums could do to punch through a little more. The only slight criticism I have is that I found the drums very repetitive; other than a few fills, they didn't seem to change throughout - some occasional extra layers dropping in and out would just add an extra level of variety for me. Other than that, good stuff.

Thanx for checking out the track Chizmata and xylyx!
Appreciated.
I see what you guys mean concerning the kick and snare.
Allow me to explain my thought process behind this: during the mixdown and gainstaging both were louder, but my intention with the track was to deliver a more ambient, soundscapish kinda track instead of a puncher, like most of my tracks pretty much are.
So I basically tamed the drum and snare busses by appr 3db.
Hence it might sound the way you guys perceive it.
Meant intentionally.
In addition, this snare is not typical for this style. Its a typical dnb snare. Heavy compressed and lots of dynamics. Most creators of this style use the typical 808 snare all you guys know.
But i wanted to fuse this snare with this track, one way or another.
Imo it turned out pretty well, but diff people, diff tastes, diff perspectives….
Thanks again guys!

First Impression over Thinkpad T440p speakers  , song sounds really good. I like your deep oldschool style RTFX with it´s amount of melancholic feel.
Second impression with DT880 pro headphones, nice ambience especial the crash/snare and your wide stereo field, maybe 1,5-2 db more for the kick, but i think that´s all.
The sound of this track is much more forward and in the face then your older releases, congrats

I’m glad you liked it man!
You know what they say about crappy speakers. If the song sounds good through those, its mixed good😉
Nice to read you checked out my previous tracks as well and noticed progression.
Ive been focussing on mixing and mastering.
Seeing your comment, i think it paid off😀

Really enjoyed this, great melodic elements and vocal use. As for the comments about more power to the drums i did kinda agree to start with but later on they are more defined so would not change it myself.

Cannot beat a bit of 303 :)

The bassline sounds fucking great, as do all the synths. I still reckon the drums sound too flat and vanilla though. Sometimes I wack a Synchronous on and automate a button to switch between dry/wet so you can get some easy glitchy fills.

Vanilla happens to be my favorite flavour but i’m open to try the Synchronous flavour!
