Here's a piece of synthpop, again based on Bitleys Fairlight and Synclavier refills.

* Soundbanks/refills for Reason by Bitley(bitley.laconicsounds.net)
* Jiggery Pokery's Steerpike Delay and Chenille Chorus to make anything shine
* Synapse GQ-7 EQ to cut and boost.
* Seligs Leveler and de-esser for fixing vocal dynamics and sibilance.
* Onyx Tube Limiter to tame the peaks.
* Adobe Audition for manual tinkering,
* Mastered through emastered.com

The following sounds from Bitleys refills were used:
Linn Drum 1
Electro 02
Synclvr Bells 1
Synclawave II
P O L Y S Y N T H M A G O R I A
1982 Bass
Lately Bass 1
Analogvetu
Dirty Funk Bass
Aggro Bass
Thick Synth Lead
LA Jupiter 8
Mallets with spacious decay
Glocken Ist Zu Speil
Lightshifter
Drop a voice
AttackPad 1

-------------

I've spent quite some time recently watching clips about quantum physics and especially the mystery of the double slit experiments and interpretations of it.

The lyrics are fragments inspired by a sci-fi/mystery story plot I had in mind:

Renewed attempts on making some sense on the original double slit experiments came up with suggestions of
new experiments.
The results of these led to even greater confusion than the original ones, raising further questions.
Questions looking more like Koan's than scientific challenges.

Based on the results, a multinational team from different research centers found an unorthodox approach and
developed an experiment that would hopefully shine some light on these strange results.

Executing the experiment generated an unexpected artifact.
The scientists were in complete agreement regarding the interpretation of this artifact:
It was a message, from entities who eventually introduced themselves as Guardians Of Humankind

Through this quantum communication channel, we received further instructions for how to build a receiver portal
that would allow the entities to enter our universe.

The receiver portal was placed in a close orbit to the sun, and activated.
Shortly after, they arrived.

They brought equipment to build the more complex sender portal, that would allow humanity
to escape the approaching fate of our universe.

Most people chose to stay, many refusing argued that they'd eventually transform to the entities universe anyway
after the collapse of our universe and wouldn't let mere agony over the apocalypse cause them
to leave prematurely.

Really cool track. I like the way you have a bit more of an instrumental into for this one before progressively introducing your vocals.

I also like the theme. That double slit experiment blows my mind! :)

cheers!

Thank you, I'm happy that's something that can be appreciated!
One of my struggles has always been to keep some kind of persistent path throughout my songs.
I often find myself having to correct what developed to be more of a medley with disconnected parts than a straight path journey.

I've listened a lot to progressive rock, like Genesis, Yes, Rush etc, so inspired by the direction changes that they master to perfection
I've got a lot to learn here.

Thank you!

Spending some time to build the atmosphere before introducing vocals is something I need to practice further!

The master of building progressive atmosphere in my eyes is the Finnish pagan metal group Moonsorrow, music to be inspired by in this sense.

And the double slit experiment + later variations site blows a mind.
I hope there's going to be some convergence between materialists and philosophers regarding the interpretation, we live in utterly exciting times!

I love this song... sounds very original.

A bit of an aside, but a group in Japan has recently demonstrated using an electron microscope with a fast camera sensor to do double-slit experiments much easier than they have been done previously.

Still nostalgic about the old days, writing songs with my Amiga 500, Korg M1, and Ensoniq ASR-10 sampler.

Thanks for feedback and experiment link!

I hope there will be increasing efforts to solve this quantum mystery, easier experiment setup surely helps.

This guy has crowdfunded his upcoming variants of the double slit experiment:
