Collabs [Done right] use project files or midi/stemming exports neatly placed in folders so It actually does not matter what version of any software you use has due to that. Also, guys in terms of workflow they put it on par with studio one 2.

usually make stems of tracks because often people don't have the re's I use or a different version of reason... no problem doing this if interested

Hi Darryl
Downloaded new version and I'm gonna start trying a few ideas.
Sorry for no news - worked until late night yesterday, and today same is expected.
("real" work I mean, the one that pays the bills, but makes no music).

Still interested... life still keeping me busy... ;)

Quick questions to double check:

First part riffs in F minor, second part in A locrian / G minor ?

Were the guitars tuned to A440? I may have to slightly pitch shift - Seems slightly out of tune to my ears when layering parts tuned to standard A440.

are you working in 44.1 or 48khz ?... the file was 48khz ...sorry I never mentioned that detail... hoping that may be the issue as that could cause a semitone pitch problem...first half processessed through polar... which may have given it a slight weird tuning... neptune comes up with something slightly sharper then G# but not quite A ... bet this is the issue (my bad)... so yes... tune into it if you have to and don't mind... neptune loses it mind on 2nd part... comes up with A,A#, B, C#,D#,F,F# (what ever that is lol) seems I have forgotten most my music theory... I see the issue... now I'm a bit embarrassed ... perhaps I should try to retune the first part so it is G# and not in never never land... I could do this and resend a file if you remain interested  haven't used polar a lot and was mucking with pitch settings when I made first part but never referenced it to any set tuning,,, damn... kind of a rookie mistake...

I never work in 48. Uses more CPU without significant advantage.
But I believe Reason takes care of that...
I'm inclined to believe the issue is more in the "weird tunings" that polar and neptune came up with.

The notes I'm guessing/hearing are (slightly out of tune, but very near):

Part 1
Repeating bass - F
Additional riff notes - Ab Bb C
This could be Cm (just because I like that scale :) ), but since it insists on F, it's Fm.

Part 2
Repeating bass - A
Additional riff notes - C D Eb
Fits Gm, but due to repeating A, it's more in A-Locrian mode (a mode of Gm - and I called it Gm cause it seemed to me more in the spirit of part 1, cause I could have said instead to be in Bb major, just another mode . But the main reason I said it to be A-Locrian is because it's the only scale/mode that begins in A and is followed by C D Eb - that is, if I stay just in modes of diatonic and don't go into weird scales, but since there is already a change of scale and Locrian is weird enough, no need to go more wacky - and it would give a lot me more work guessing/fitting ;) )

Anyway, all this doesn't fit the notes you said...
Let's try to put some order in this :)
Forget a moment about what polar or Neptune might have done, what notes are supposed to be in part 1 and part 2 ?

By the way, was it everything on e-guitar, or something on e-bass?

brain explodes... on a bunch of pain killers because me back was thrown out digging gravel for 5 days, my brain just isn't working at all... I am uploaded the reason file... you obviously know more then me...I am still getting used to reason 9.... perhaps the reason file will bring more sense to this for you... I work in 48k because I'm often working with film with the same files... first part synth and strings... 2nd part guitar and bass(bounced to tracks from a song my music mate in Germany was working on... he did bass and drums)... hence some major confusion on my part...link sent by message... sorry... 165 mb
