Hi all.

The "fish" album is done and the final title is "Waters Are My Sky". Lots of bonus points if you know where that is from without reading my site.

Of course, it is 100% Reason 9 with Thor & Sub being the core of all the synthesis.

Full track details here https://benedictroffmarsh.com/2017/04/2 ... re-my-sky/

Good that you didnt drown during the making of this film.
Nice restraint I would have had a shark pop up in the first 5 min ( ladies hate me for this)
Some definite goosebumps moments early in the second song;
Sometimes in this album I hear something and say boy do I wish that repeated more.
Seeing that legacy devices are used here mainly, this is more evidence that if you know what your doing, you dont need to buy a bunch of devices to get top notch results.

Song 3 has some sounds that remind me of goodbye horses and i was hoping to Christ almighty you would do a goodbye seahorses!
As nick batt always says synths really get a chance to shine when we cut back on the constant in your face drums and this album is a really good example of that.

17 min in that arp though. Again there are a couple reasons why I listen to music and this was a moment of bliss that i would have liked to see repeated more.

Great balance of sound design and musicality.

We do get moments where schools of fish seem to be devoured in 1 bite: 23:00 & 29:44
Made me realize it aint to late too do the whole scuba thing.
Will be interesting to see what other environments you explore. We have seen space and the water might we see jungle or the dessert in the future?
26:00 interesting underwater rhythm.
Overall as usual much more upbeat on a feeling level than music I typically gravitate to, but there are some moments that feel deep to me.
30:34 floating 31;24 bubbles (no osc x refill used here?)
33:45 excellence!

Thaks Modecca

I'm right with whoever Nick Batt is in saying that music shines far better when the drums are lower in the mix. Disco worked just fine and drums weren't over-loud.

No ReFills used at all. All my sound design.

If you know of how/where I can get good visuals I will consider working any subject.

Thanks for your feedback and glad you enjoyed.

Looks like Serenescreen aquarium to me... ?

Around 17 mins the pads especially sound very aquatic, as does the arp around 21mins, and sonar-like and dolphin-like sounds around 29 mins.

I reckon some of the individual tracks could be pulled out and extended to much longer ambient works. They have a great soundscape and don't even need the melodies to carry them.

Great work Benedict!

Thanks. I think Tomita was a true Master so can't help but be influenced.

Just had chance to sit down to listen to it in one session, rather liked Damselfish and Triggerfish (the first Triggerfish after Damselfish as I noticed the last track was also called Triggerfish!! ??)

The video (screen saver) worked well with it :D

Congratulations to the album!

A nice evening and I'm sitting in my garden hammock in southern Sweden, listening to this lovely animation of sound.
25 minutes so far, and everything sounds perfect.
