Sweet man! If you're ever not sure about your ideas, just mix them down and then just piece them all together and put them on SoundCloud as private tracks or something and get feedback of other people and producers :) I'd love to check them out!
I know better than anyone what it's like to start off a tracks, not being to sure of them and then just leaving about a hundred unreleased/unfinished tracks on your desktop haha!

That's sweet man, just listened to it!
I like the synths and the very neuro dnb bass synths in the drop ;)

Cheers, yeah definitely my dnb side coming through into this one!
I am thinking of next maybe doing a dnb VIP of this just to see what could have been ;)

I thought that may have been the case ;) haha
I'm sure that will be easy for you to do a dnb VIP of your track, especially with those basses!

I can finally reveal that I won the remix competition with my dubstep-ish track.

Also, if you follow the smarturl link, you will find someone who has also done a dubstep remix for one of the other songs. It is a much better song than mine, I feel, but it is also proper dubstep and I kind of like the fact that mine isn't purely dubstep, but also something... odd... :D

Well done man, congrats!

It was unique and different from conventional things so I am not surprised that it won!

I will have a look through the links in a moment too :)

Thanks man! It may have also had something to do with the fact that there were only three entries, but who's counting, right? :D

Any new people producing heavy Dubstep?

I got something in the works. Should be releasing next week. It's not really dubstep, but it's got some wobble leads. I'm new to that so it's been a bit of a learning curve.

Nice!
I'd say dubstep is a very hard genre to learn, same goes for the sounds and automations.

Be sure to post your track in here when it is released, man!

Yeah no kidding. Way more automation than any other stuff I've done.

Yeah I'll definitely link it here.

Thanks man! I've been at it all week. Sent it to a pro producer friend to check, and this was the first track he didn't have any recommended adjustments for!

I loved celldweller back in the day. I dig some of his stuff out every once in a while still.

That's great! And it's always good to have a pro producer friend at hand huh.
I still find mastering tracks hard, not exactly my strong point but I am still learning haha

Yeah he's super helpful to bounce things off of.

If you every have questions, hit me up. I'm still learning but hopefully I can help you not wander in the dark as long as I have been lol

Sweet man, I may have to take you up on that sometime!
I'm still trying to learn what frequencies lay where in a track and how many DB's each sound and the master should be at [emoji31]

There's been a few thread's in here about gain staging which have been super helpful in getting your mix started right. Also, iZotope's website has a ton of good mix/master articles.

On a simple mix I usually set my individual levels at -10db or less. On a very full mix with a lot of instruments, may have to lower that.

I generally aim for an RMS level of -6db on the the loudest part of the finished master with peaks at -0.3db.

I found this chart a good while back. It has a bunch of great info, especially at the bottom of the pic. http://www.audio-issues.com/music-mixin ... ever-need/
