Hi all.

Here is my latest track, fresh from the studio. All listens/comments appreciated.

As an aside, I am currently trialing ReverbNation so I have posted links to both that and my Soundcloud account ... Take your pick :D

For what it's worth, RN has a much tighter upload size limit so the audio quality may not be as good as SC but would be interested to hear opinions.

Many thanks.

Nice sounds and intro. Like the beats, suit it well. I really like the feel of the song, very mellow and warm. More bass? ;)

I like the ambient vibe and sounds, but agree with Tincture about the bass. If it were up to me I'd add a nice deep dubby bassline, and add a space echo as a send and play around with automating the send amounts on various sounds. But I don't know if that's your thing. It sounds quite shy as it is, so I'm tempted to just blurt out "turn that shit up dawg!". But that's meant as an ecouragement, since there is definitely potential here.

Thanks guys for listening and providing feedback. I had always intended for the bassline to be on the minimal side but I'm keen to understand precisely what you mean about the bass.

@Auryn, you have made it quite clear that you would have liked to see more bass from a compositional point of view as opposed to just turning the volume up on what's already there - and I agree with your comment that a dubby bassline could work very nicely with the other elements of the piece.

@Tincture, is that what you mean also or did you just feel that the bass lacked volume/presence?

Hey RealmUK, I didn't mean to be rude, I was just hearing the whole thing in my head (with dubby bassline added) and perhaps got a bit overenthusiastic. :?
I had another listen and I think turning up the existing bass sound would also improve things. It's very quiet, so I have to confess I hardly noticed it on my first listen.

Hi Auryn ... I didn't take your comments as being rude so I apologise if my reply gave you that impression :)

I value your opinion and find it interesting because when I was working on the final mix I felt that low end was muddying the track somewhat - well, it certainly sounded that way to me on my monitors (and other listening devices I use to test the mix with) - so I reduced the levels on the bassline a notch or two. Maybe I overdid the attenuation.

I guess it also depends upon what system you are listening to it over. I just replayed it over my Macbook speakers and I agree, the bassline is barely audible but I would expect that kind of response from those little speakers anyway.
