Hi fam,
A while ago I posted the demo. Now it's finished and professionally mastered.
I'll keep you guys posted if I win the New Mexico Music Awards in May. Rock & Roll, Baby!

I posted a reply to this before when the server went down I guess. I really like the arrangement, some parts reminds me of some 80's and 90's song arrangements I studied. Mix is superb and I really think this sounds like a radio hit and honestly I rarely listen to Rock or Pop. Overall the vocals are very unique and all the elements keep it interesting throughout. Rock on!!!
Very cool song with an early 90's vibe. What'd you use for each instrument? My only criticism is the drums sound a little too quantized. Guitars sound clean and sit in the mix well. Nice stuff!
Love how the guitars and that deep throbbing bass synth sit with eachother. Listening on headphones and the elements are spaced out beautifully. I think I'd lift your vocal volume a little and add a little bit more reverb/filters at times. The song itself is catchy, very easy on the ear and flows nicely. Love the guitars and distortion at the end.
Hello JF!
When I heard the guitars, I heard Duran Duran.
Great song structure & vocals - kept me listening to the end.
I really like how you blend the music with the shuttle communication at the end.
The intro ends abruptly, which may be what you aimed for and it's fine. I'm only curious if there could be some connecting element to tie the intro closer to the verse, perhaps only a snare hit.
My favorite part about the song is the strong melodies and hooks. Really strong song writing. Very catchy in the best possible way. My ears tend to not register lyrical content so I can't comment on that.
If I were to improve anything it's the drums. I get that you want to mix in some more electronic vibes into a rock song with the electronic drums, which is cool. I think the switch between the verse any chorus doesn't completely gel with me drum wise. The chorus has less high end in the drums which almost makes it seem not as strong. Maybe layer the snare to both get the omphy bottom and also have the higher end of the spectrum. The hihat sound during the chorus also drops in the high end.
Sometimes it's tricky to completely switch out drum samples during a song like you have done here. I find it easier to have a drum sound foundation that plays throughout the song. And then when you want more power you simply build on the sounds you already have and just add layers.
