Refill Packer - what formats?

Hi I tried to pack drum samples (all in .wav format) into a refill. Unfortunately he shows me that the format is wrong. I removed all MIDI files, MP3 files and .DS files. The drum samples are in different folders. I tried to pack 3 folders into a refill.

Does anyone have any idea why this might be?

It should create a log file as well. I believe the offending file/problem will be listed in there.

Did you remember to place an "info.txt" file, correctly filled, at the root of the folder you want to pack? Otherwise it won't even start packing IIRC.

Do you have any text files or anything of that nature inside 7 and 9?

I did look into all folder seperatly. There are no formats other then .wav formats

Maybe it's because the folders are read-only. I can not deselect it. They are read-only whenever I go to properties

No log file? I had a problem once because a wav file was damaged. After fixing/removing all worked fine.

How do I know which wav file is damaged. There are too many. I figured out. Pack 5 and 7 are good. It works if I create a Refill. It must be Pack 9. But there are only as I said wav files. Don´t know what to do. I guess I must hear everythink individually to find out which one is damaged maybe. But thanks for help anyway. Best regards,
Simon

That's why I said check the log, it should list the offending file. So you can replace it with a good one, or remove it.

Make sure you don't have any 32bit floating point wave files to be added to the refill. As those are still no supported by Reason iirc.

Doesn´t show the log. As it only shows like in my first post. See above. There is only a "OK" Button. Nothing else...

You can't avoid testing all the wavs to check which one is fawlty - I mean, faulty - but doing it by dichotomy is the fastest method. Make a copy of the Pack 5 folder first. Take out half of the files from Pack 5, put them in a folder somewhere.

- Try to create a Refill.
- If it works, the faulty wav is in the other folder. Delete all files from Pack 5, and move half of the files from the other folder into Pack 5.
- If it doesn't work, the faulty wav is in this half of the files. Delete all files in the other folder, and move half of the files from Pack 5 to the other folder.
- Repeat.

The last file is the faulty one (unless there are several!). You only have to do 8 tests for 256 files for instance. Not ideal, but optimal at least...

I believe there is also a size limit for refills, not sure exactly what this limit is, something like 2gb or 3.5gb.
Perhaps someone else knows what the size limit is?

Thanks, that's 4GB unpacked, I'm assuming total size of source folder. Also worth checking splash image, meets the 96x96px size too.
