I've been doing a bit of experimental wiring on the Rock Ballad kit preset . I created different mix channels for the kit ( as per James Bernard's video tip) but i also took the samples out of the NN-XT and into Kong's Nano sampler (for the hell of it) as there isnt a decent 'Rock' patch for kong in the factory soundbank. I created 4 kongs ( close miced, snare bottom, overheads and ambience) and used the different hit types in kong to pile them into a 4 kong combi. I also just did a 'out of kong into seperete mix channels' for this kit (with alot of wiring!) and just thought that if anyone has RDK (part of the backline rig bundle) sure there welcome to use them if there in any way usefull. They'd need alot of tweaking and personal processing and i could only use 16 rock samples (obviously cause it's Kong).

So you're posting a song file? How many mix channels are you using?

Yea i couldn't post the patches cause then everyone would need to route up the mix channels themselvs. So its a a ' copy devices and tracks' and then paste them into your song job . I picked the samples i liked and loaded them into kong with the exact velocity settings that were used in the nn-xt. and oen one of the song files i routed the seperate mics into seperate p-eq's then combining all mic types into audio mereges in the mix channels themselves for alot of control!
one of the song files has a combinator one just one channel (containing a cl mic kong , ambience mic kong etc etc ) that one can be just pasted into a favouries folder in reason and it means you just have a fat rock drum kit ready to go for inspiration purposes!
