I was wondering what is typical compression ratio for refills? Is the compression algorithm something like ZIP or more of a loveless FLAC like ratio?

Not sure if they are compressed! But I don't think they are.

It seams like a lower compression more than likely to help with speed.

Yeah there are compression algos faster than reading raw data on standard PCs like LZ4 or LZOP. I bet they are using something like that.

By wav files approx. 2:1.

Dont know what algorythm are Props using, but browser in Reason reads faster samples from refill, than from HDD.
