Soundcells sale?
I doubt it. Father's day is on a totally different date in Germany. Also, it doesn't sound like a reasonable purpose for a sale.
Anyway, I can't remember sales for Soundcells at all, but that might be just me. If you buy SaladBar, you get a 10€ coupon, so you basically get one ReFill collection for free and another ReFill cheaper.

So someone can give Dad a gift of a refill?tibah wrote:I doubt it. Father's day is on a totally different date in Germany. Also, it doesn't sound like a reasonable purpose for a sale.

I dunno... do sales ever need a pretex?
same here in OZ re dates.tibah wrote:I doubt it. Father's day is on a totally different date in Germany. Also, it doesn't sound like a reasonable purpose for a sale.

To the OP, Soundcells are in my top 3 refill designers of all time, without a doubt. They have mastered the art of sound design and creating useful, ready to play and mix sounds. They do indeed do occasional sales, but if you can't wait, be assured their stuff is really well prices and worth it anyway
I highly recommend Salad Bar as well. It's one of the best deals available ReFill-wise.tibah wrote:Anyway, I can't remember sales for Soundcells at all, but that might be just me. Yes, great refills I can really recommend. Also "Salad Bar" is a great start with the included coupon and for subscribed customers there have been some sales or special offers through out the year.
Yea! SaladBar isn't necessarily a *best of*, but it offers a bit of everything Soundcells does and, like mentioned, you basically get it for free, if you are into getting a 2nd ReFill too. It also reminds me that I simply have to buy Nordic Red at some point, since the patches included in SaladBar are simply great!
Regarding "favorite ReFill developer", a pic says more than 1000 words...

First, @ jallen97 - Digital Genome is ridiculous in the most positive sense of the word.. it's so much fun. It's the only retro sample pack I have ever used that has amazing presets every time you click the next button. Furthermore, it has captured that "LED Storm" amiga music pad to perfection.. It actually gives my entire body goosebumps every time i press a key! I love it!mrj1nx wrote:I went in a grabbed a few a couple of days ago, also really diggin the demos, havent downloaded them yet, hope to get time today (Salad Bar, 309 Boost, Greenhouse, Parsec Signature). Theo, what are your other 2 top 3 refill makers?
@mrj1nx
I should say I have a top 5 overall. I will be honest, i find with many of them there are hits and misses but there are no misses in the soundcells which probably make them my number 1, closely followed by exode.
Nucleus are in the top 5 overall, but for me at least, i don't like sort of half their stuff, where as i love the other half. For example i love their monopoly refill but really am not into their oberheim one at all. Put it this way, I prefer their RE refills by far to their factory ones.. If you want refills that use only factory devices i honestly feel soundcells have it absolutely nailed. As of course does exode!
The others I would suggest looking into, which don't get alot of talk but actually make some delightful refills, are digital sound factory.. Alot of their emu stuff is just spot on and rather wonderful - i had a mo phatt hardware rack in the day and now i have it all in reason for example.. great stuff.
Vengeance only has the thor refill but it's exceptional. He's in my top 5 but it can't be top 3 cause there is only that one refill.
I would say for a huge variety the top 3 are souncells, exode and DSF.
BTW i don't like any of the esoundz refills at all except for miroslav and only some of it, therefore they are not really even in my top 10. They do really crazy sales all the time but i don't think it's worth it as there is so much filler to get through to actually find a decent sound here and there.
Others of note are bitley and zampled.. They are more specialist though which is why i rate soundcells so high as he has presets for seemingly every device.
I actually bought the whole line because he had a sale buy one get one free and i didn't have many refills at that time, and they were the best decision i made. I was sort of in a rut at the time thinking reason stock synths didn't sound that great but soundcells changed my mind with their lush warm pads..i honestly thought i would never find a replacement for albino 3 for pads in reason, but soundcells did it for me.
Oh the other popular one I am not a fan of are pink noise.. i had bought their bundle the first time around but never registered it and they have allowed me to sell it which i keep on forgetting to do.. they are really not my thing but some swear by them. I guess alot of it also comes down to personal taste.
Well look at that, it's on sale!!

You all have heard this (posted it yesterday in a separate thread)? All non-vocal sounds are from the ReFill … and i think, it´s a great track produced by Hugh Wilson. It´s always fantastic to hear what others are doing with Soundcells stuff … absolutely thankful for this!
i absolutly agree. the amiga refill is fantastic. i higly recomment the work of soundcells.Theo.M wrote:and that amiga soundbank is liquid gold. It is absolutely the best retro refill of all time, and I can't even think how to recommend it enough. Just get it!
