I couldn't find any kind of sample-based steel pans (steel drums) in the FSB or any of the refills I had previously downloaded. I found some free NN-XT patches pre-made from www.kara-moon.com. I worked on a combinator that uses the sustain pedal to switch between the normal hits and the rolls patches. I bundled them as a refill because of the large number of samples, not because I'm taking credit for the recording and editing of the samples. Thought I'd pass it along to the community.

Thanks! Always nice to see certain specific sampled instruments... especially when they're free :)

I made a track earlier this week and used some steel pans from FSB and elsewhere, and they were so bad that i actually ended up muting them and I had resolved to just do without them. Had even questioned my own judgement in wanting them in the first place.

So...I saw this thread today and immediately DLd the refill and they are perfect! Big thanks to you and the original source.

THANK YOU! :)

Thanks for sharing.

It's always nice when a thread gets a bump and is then discovered by even more people. Glad you all appreciate them!

I've been digging that "Pick up the Phone" song from Travis Scott, which has a really nice steel drum "chord" progression, thanks for your contribution!
