I'm looking to buy a couple Parsec soundpacks. I don't have time to learn additive synthesis and I don't like the factory soundbank that much.

What are the best parsec refills?

Parsec probably isn't a synth you'd learn Additive on anyway as it is a set of pre-defined routines to make it easy to play in the Additive sonics. That means that it is as good for you to experiment. Oh and watch the videos as they give all you really need.

What style of sounds are you after?

I actually haven't come across any ReFills for Parsec that grabbed my attention and I purchased. And it's one of my favorite synths and a synth I was certain I would be buying ReFills for. Maybe the patch designers happen to choose patches for demos I don't fancy? Possible.

I have one ReFill for parsec already in our store "Extension ReFill - Parsec" , and you can try the demo version of it before you buy it here at http://www.naviretlav.com/RErefill

Also in next few days I will release another new ReFill for parsec "Parsec Combination" and the demo for it is already available here :refill:

Have fun ;)

Good to hear. I still don't have time right now trying to get a handle on Malstrom which baffles me but a simplified for of additive should definitely be easier.

Over at Reasonistas you will find the Refill Shop Inventory in which you can search for a particular term. I searched for the term "Parsec" and this is what is currently available in the Ph Shop. I know we can also do a search in the Ph Shop, but I personally prefer to look at a simple spreadsheet to do my initial research and comparisons.

There are also many Refill Developers that do not sell via the Ph shop. These Refill Developers sell directly to the Reason community via their own site. I'm compiling a list of these and will include them in the site soon.

Rather unknown, so spread some love for - http://www.pointzeroproductions.net/parsec-200.html

When I think about Parsec, I would always prefer odd and unique over everything else, which is why I got this ReFill. :) PZP is one of these guys, that used to participate in the PUF, but gone quite now, but he is still around.

Then there is Kommande by Andrew Skelton (free) - http://free-reason-refills.com/refill/K ... K603XK4601

As much as I love Soundcells and what Harald does, sometimes his trademark sound does overshadow the possibilities of a synth. What I mean is, you will always know a Soundcells patch from anything else, which in itself is a great thing and shows the quality of his presets, but in terms of his Parsec sounds, you could grab another Soundcells ReFill and get the same vibe from it, if that makes sense. :)

Yeap, Clint at PZP creates great sound patches and he's a fellow Vegan I might add..so you'll be buying animal free refills ;-).

As you know, Andrew is a long time Reason user and knows a thing or two about sound design. His studio setup is amazing.

I know what you mean about Harald's patches, but the same may be said about Reason101, NSL, eXode, Navi, etc. Kevin Sunray, Speo and Lucky Date all cater to EDM so their patches are great for that sound. I know when I hear a sound from any of these guys, but as you said that is not necessarily a negative if you're after their signature sound.

I own Parsec and Soundcells Parsec Signature & Nucleus Soundlab - extension refill parsec. My best tip is listen to one of these soundpacks until you hear one sound you like and then you should create another Parsec and try an replicate the settings that made the sound patch you like, in doing so great discoveries can be learned and you can even add tweaks and fx and change it up.

I just bought Thor 300 and Parsec 300 off PointBlankProductions, so looks like I will be a busy boy.
I've also got some Roland Refills arriving by mail that I bought from Ebay as well, so i'm set up for a great time in the next few days.
