Haven't updated Reason for about a year and today opening it I got this error message. Downloaded recent updates, downloaded Companion App, still opening project or new file I get this error. Why?

P.S. I do not have any extensions apart from Default stuff that came with Reason 12. Have not bought anything else.

Have you checked your Account?
What does it say about your authorized computers for offline mode?

Can you explain more where to look? I mean I know what you have in mind but I can not find it in my account anywhere for some reason. I heave reason 12 installed (upgrade from 11). And when I go to My Account >> My Products page I only see Reason Companion and Reason Version 12.

I would really appreciate if you managed to get back at me on your free time.

P.S. I authorized my only one laptop that I use for offline use and another laptop is left on internet authorization (haven't logged in in a year or so). So I only use one laptop which was authorized for offline use.

Long time ago it was other way around and I switched laptop authorization with success, older one for online, new one with online, so I do not have that stupud popUP window with login everyday.

do you have authorizer installed?

log into your account go to my products click on rack extensions there you will see sync all button.

Note: From Reason 12.7, this page is obsolete. Instead, use Reason Companion to handle your Rack Extensions.
The functions on this page can still be used if you have an older version of Reason and Authorizer is installed.

I'm having the same issue and I can't seem to solve it.

I tried the authorisation.

I tried the new 'reason companion'.

I also never bought any specific rack extensions, just the ones which came with whatever package deal I got when I paid for v12.

I am on the latest update for 12 as far as I'm aware.

When I look for my rack extensions, I have four which seem to have come with it.

They cannot be updated as the button is greyed out.

I don't know what I'm doing in reason yet, I'm still very much a newbie, but when I drag some sounds into the main window it loads up some of these extensions and it seems to work....so, it seems to just be the annoying message saying they are not authorised when booting up the program in Windows.

It claims on the message to be a problem with my connection, but there isn't a problem and I'm fully signed in on the program and online to my account.

The "sync all" button on the old-authorise webpage is also greyed out where it says "link to this computer". I have never changed computer, this is still the one and only one I've installed it on.

I think I'm going to take up the deal/offer of the update to release 13, so it may not matter any more on my part.

I don't really use Reason enough at the moment to really justify it, but, the current zooming facilities do my head in so the new method may save me a lot of frustration with that whilst trying to learn how to use the software again, the new tag system for sounds looks good, the new delay machine looks quite handy and the new synth looks okay so far...and it might solve the annoying problem of the rack extensions not identifying as being registered. I wouldn't pay £200 for it, but at just under half that, it is more feasible.

It is really stupid problem, a bit glad I am not the only one affected. But I am not gonna upgrade Reason just in attempt to solve this problem. Maybe will try to re-install everything once again. As for rack extension this is what I see when click on the folder in Reason.

Did that help at all? I've had no authorization issues with 12 and doubt companion or the reason studios site will help in this matter , other than support.
But> I do also have reason 13 installed. Maybe that's the reason it works for me? I did use R12 to authorize 6 other racks the other day. Not R13.
There was a recent update to companion by the way, if you tried authorization before the new update. Yet the older version also worked in R12 for me.
