Not having done a shoot out I'm curious how it holds up... Definitely the most affordable option at the moment at the intro price of $19.

Wow, seems like Quantec Room Simulation time: Apple added those Quantec reverbs into Logic 11.1 as well - just got released .....

Need to check this RE out .... always found the Quantec approach to reverb interesting.

I was just reading about Logic/Quantec earlier today, I guess I need to update – checking it out now! One obvious thing, the interface is WAY better than the hardware so a big plus there.

But to be totally honest, having worked on a QRS when it was first introduced (yes, I'm that old) I was never as impressed with the sound as with Lexicon and AMS or EMT reverbs of the day. It was way "rougher/coarser" sounding somehow.
Looking back, I was probably just expecting more realism – but what I missed was the creative applications (later used by folks like Peter Gabriel). For example, the Freeze feature was the first of its kind, IIRC although I preferred the PCM-70 freeze introduced a few years later.

If you're a fan of 80s music you'll probably recognize it right away, especially on drums.

In other news, it's 2024 and Logic Pro JUST added the ability to search for plugins by name, AND the ability to re-arrange mixer channels. So when folks talk about Reason being a bit 'behind', remember they are not the only ones playing some form of "catch up".

Reason has had both of these features since at least R6.0.
