FFB914 Resonant Fixed FIlter Bank

The Moog 914™ Fixed Filter Bank, released in the 1960s, was a groundbreaking tool for sound manipulation. It featured 12 fixed bandpass filters along with lowpass and highpass filters, each precisely tuned to a specific frequency. This filter bank became renowned for shaping the tone of modular synthesizers by isolating, boosting, or cutting certain frequencies, producing rich and evolving textures. Unlike dynamic EQs, the original 914 lacked resonance control—each filter remained static, serving as a tool for passive tonal adjustment.

Our FFB914 Resonant Fixed Filter Bank builds on this foundation with the addition of variable resonance, offering greater versatility for modern sound design.

This effect merges the character of the original 12-band filter design with modern enhancements, providing deeper sound sculpting capabilities and unique stereo modulation. Whether you’re shaping frequencies in the studio or performing live, the FFB914 unlocks a wealth of sonic potential through intuitive controls.
The FFB914 Resonant Fixed Filter Bank combines the classic essence of the Moog™ 914 with modern flexibility, featuring resonance control and advanced stereo routing. Whether you’re after subtle tonal enhancement or bold sound transformation, this plugin is the perfect tool for precise and musical frequency sculpting.

ps: device was been ready at the end of summer, but some minor problems move release to September, and now it already in the shop!

We not inspired only by classic 914 ffb.. we going thru some recreations steps and try to search. And find what we love in the world of filter banks, include alternative FFB's ideas from Yusynth, Bark filter, Serge modular to Buchla spectral proccessor). So, finally, we have complex of ideas. And you free to automate every and also odd / even filters bands for whatever you want by external modulations.
One of our ideas, build lfo-based resonant ffb, but we find it not better way (more hard-usable device), and try to make it more simple and comfort to use for your needs, as with base of 914, and additional possibilities.

I love fixed filter banks, they're really interesting. @turn2on, will you be doing more based on other models?

rorystorm, yes, already in plans 1 or 2. Not near plans, but I believe its interesting skill to realise something, cant said more now. I think coming with next year.

geronimo, I'm waiting this comment about patch browser. Add this later in update. Patches here is more about technical aspects than about sound character presets of course, but important part of complex in fx device like FFB.
Plan to create and release this update soon.

I like it - pretty subtle unless you're using it in Boost mode, but it sounds great and the stereo effects can be pretty wild, especially with CV modulation of the filter freqs. Nice work!
