Very cool, looking forward to the RE release! I sold the SP 1200 I had in 2018 for good money but regretting it.

Is there any crossgrade path if I buy the vst to get the Re later?

I think its only possible the other way around. If you buy the re first, you can get the vst also

Send Inphonik an e-mail to be sure.
If you've bought an Inphonik product in Rack Extension from the Reason Shop, we're happy to send you a free license of the same product in VST/AU/AAX. Please get in touch with us and attach a screenshot of your proof of purchase at support@inphonik.com. Sadly, we can't do the other way around anymore. Reason users, please buy the RE first!

Removed sequencer? Looks nice but a sequencer is always welcomed, especially in Reason....
Redrum style, popo it up, and play a saved sequence...

That could be an opportunity for another RE developer. Reproduce the SP-1200 sequencer with its legendary swing. Don't frget to add a double tempo mode!

I've never used a real 1200, but I can't imagine the sequencer is anything less than tedious to program. Old electronic devices like that are never user friendly. I would guess it's about as much fun as programming a DX-7. And the sequencer isn't even the "magical" part of the 1200. It's the sound we are after, isn't it?

I think the GUI looks much better without the sequencer taking up space. Doesn't bother me one bit that Inphonik decided to leave the sequencer off. Reason already has many superior sequencing options that are undoubtedly much better/easier to use (again, I'm guessing, please correct me if I'm wrong and the 1200 sequencer was a breeze to use).

Stock options: you could connect Redrum, Matrix, Thor.
RE options: Drum Sequencer, mDSQ, Sequences, Kompulsion, Propulsion, Korde, Step Note Recorder, Polystep, ABL3, QNG, WBL4014 (free), AS-16 (free), PSQ-1684, Euclid and more.
Players are to MIDI what synthesizers are to waveforms.

SP1200 users won't agree with you. Google SP1200 swing. ;)

But for me personally it's mostly the sound. Never needed groove templates and such to make my beats groove.

+1. But others might want the whole SP experience.

I wouldn't call 50 euros exactly "free"

They gave it away free a while ago.

Me too, I think he's updating the sample editor in the future for the vst.

Three years ago still makes the current statement invalid :puf_wink: I know they made it free for a limited time because of the lockdowns (missed that one).

I wonder if there is ReGroove MIxer solution could somehow please them?

Fair points. And there will always be the purists who can't/wont be happy with digital emulations. I think those people should just save up a boat load of money and buy a real 1200. Perhaps for the rest of us, RX1200+external sequencer is a good solution.

Sorry for the false claim and possible disappointment. It was free for me and I didn't beta test for it, so I thought it was free for everybody. IIRC, Propulsion is another one that is occasionally given away for free. That would also drive RX1200 quite nicely. My personal favorite thing to sequence 1200 with is Lectric Panda mDSQ. They are a very nice match!

Is it just me, or is in the Decay example the original (SP-1200) more "clicky" in the first transient than the RX-1200? The latter sounds somewhat muffled and softer.
