It was yesterday that he said tomorrow! I imagine James is either in Britain or Sweden - which means there hopefully should be something posted about the new player in the next few hours...

I’d love to see a chord player for generative music, where you can define a set of chords and also set which are most likely to be chosen for the next chord (based on the current/previous chord).
Outputs for root note and scale (to keep other players/instruments in key) would be a bonus.

I have the mixed in key captain bundle and totally agree with you - all these players have the same limitations and due to the RE SDK (no ipc) there is nothing much that can be done. Don't take it the wrong way as I do find them fun / handy at times but they aren't my first choice.
I would definitely like to give scaler a go, but for now I'm happily using Capitan Chords Bass Melody Drums and Play inside Live 11 suite with Reason demoted to instrument plugins (RRP) in fact I haven't purchased anything from RS for at least the last year because I purchased Live 11 suite after R12 was such a disappointment.

What about Lectric's Aggregate Music System?selig wrote: ↑24 Jun 2022I’d love to see a chord player for generative music, where you can define a set of chords and also set which are most likely to be chosen for the next chord (based on the current/previous chord).

i havent ever used QNG but assuming it can be turned into slow notes, could be combined with AutoTheory to achieve this?

I don’t think so, would love to create a bank of my own chords and the rules of which chords go together, then hit run and have the next chord chosen from my list according to my rules. I tried to build this years ago when Thor first came out, but there was a timing issue with the step sequencer where it wouldn’t send a trigger in time to ‘choose’ the next chord/sequence so I gave up on the whole idea of a generative ‘system’ in Reason. Now with Players I would think it’s much more likely to be possible in Reason.Bes wrote: ↑24 Jun 2022i havent ever used QNG but assuming it can be turned into slow notes, could be combined with AutoTheory to achieve this?

HERE for this patch i took the next most likely two or three chord options for scale degrees I-VI of the C Major Scale from Hook Theory. it works on a 1bar delay circuit once and once triggered it will run until manually stopped. start by playing any note of the cmaj scale (not B) for less than a bar in length, or change the length of the delay node to whatever you want
its more proof of concept than anything, it has no memory of the chord progression and only reacts to the immediately preceeding scale degree.

I must say, i really like the players from reason. I don´t need a midikeyboard(i play on the laptop) and get exciting results as well.
To put patternmutator over each instruments and use it at simple midfileplayer just for that! patch is great.
