The articulation that can be programmed into Friktion strings is very cool and could be applied to a Brass based rack extension modelling horns of many colors and nuances.

That would be a dream come true. Friktion is beyond amazing.

Yea, i like Friktion, even it is quite limited and has a very small control over modulations and evolving sounds.

Would be great to have the resonating sounds of some wind instruments

That would be insta-buy for me. I use horns and brass very often and I hate to rely on sample-based VSTs

You should check out the SWAM line of modelled instruments.

A PM drum synth would be awesome, too. I'd like to design weird djembes, taikos, congas, etc.

Yes please! This would be awesome.
Woodwinds and brass. But definitely woodwinds. And brass.
But I would prefer woodwinds, if I had to choose.
Players are to MIDI what synthesizers are to waveforms.

Yeah SWAM is incredible and very hard to beat!

What I like most about Friktion are the synth and FX patches. I think that's where Friktion can shine. If only it had more than 4 mod matrix slots...

Look at the Korg Prophecy. It is a physical modeling synth that has some pretty decent modeled instruments in it, but the creative patches are the best ones since it's not as convincing as something like SWAM. And the more creative patches sound very cool.

I think Reason Studios would do really well with a modeling synth like the Prophecy or something like Imagine: https://www.expressivee.com/63-imagine

They need a 'lofi' version, with bones and animal skins.

Sadly the performance of Chromonphone3 went down the road compared to V2. And that guys never fixed it. Same presets eat up much more CPU with V3 compared to V2.

Beside that, its quite good, but not that much control over the evolving sound.

They can also be used to create stylised sampled instruments
