That would also bring the CPU hit to U-He/Synapse levels.

The one by Cakewalk? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Reason Studios themselves ever released an LA-2A style comp.
Music is nothing else but wild sounds civilized into time and tune.
totally agree, and I must note that behavior at high resonance is exactly what I am hoping it can improve. I want less of a sound where it sounds like a sine wave is sitting on top, versus actual analog behavior.selig wrote: ↑13 Apr 2022Obligatory comment that ZDF designs don't change the sound of the filters overall, just the response at higher resonance settings at higher frequencies or with audio rate modulation as I understand it. At lower Q settings there should be no difference in the 'sound' or 'quality' of the filter, but someone please correct me if I'm wrong on this!
This is a sacrifice i am willing to make. Especially as an M1 mac owner.

My analog mini brute does this worse in that respect than thor (sounding like a sine on top), while Thor actually sounds quite 'Moog-y' to me though I don't have my mini moog around for a direct comparison these days. But back when Thor first came out I did a side by side comparison and was very impressed with the ladder filters in Thor compared to my mini Moog FWIW.thedude wrote: ↑15 Apr 2022totally agree, and I must note that behavior at high resonance is exactly what I am hoping it can improve. But even more important - which analog behavior do you want, as there are quite a few to choose from.
Selig Audio, LLC
this is actually a good callouts - i typically like filters with resonance who will not self oscillate, and where the resonance or new harmonic will kinda just meld with the fundamental - something like the SSM filters in polysix, prophet rev2, take 5, etc.

The image on the YouTube thumbnail, though blurry, is giving me McDSP Futzbox vibes.

It could be an audio-rate modulator, something like a chopper/ringmod. We used to use those back in the days to make robot voices (among other things).

After the Live Stream preview pixellated screenshot reveal with the robot, I'm thinking even more than before that it will be a vocoder and/or something designed for robotic/synthesised voices...rootwheel wrote: ↑28 Mar 2022I think it will be some form of new vocoder and perhaps also designed to play pitched vocal sample loops in that modern EDM style (I know Mimic can do this already but I'm thinking something simpler and more accessible).TritoneAddiction wrote: ↑28 Mar 2022Apparently Niklas (CEO) recently said in an interview:

What do you think it will be?
RoBIT is a digital crackle device that automatically gets added to every Reason project, even if you don't want it. it doesn't actually do anything, but because it's an official Reason device, it puts you at ease with all the pops and clicks you get during playback due to poor optimization.
You're not wrong, reason studios never have. I just mean that I speculate/hope this will be the upcoming device because the cakewalk one is no longer available to buy.
I'm sure it'll be something completely different though.
Is it available for today ?
I'm still wondering why Reason does not just release it , as promised for Reason+ User ( get it as soon it is available ).
But no, they will make a big show about it first. Other companies like Arturia or anybody else always surprise their customers with a finished, imidiately downloadable, usable product without anouncing it weeks before. This is the marketing way i would prefer, so I am not getting nervous about it what it could be...
