This looks and sounds great, says developed by pongasoft with the dsp code from mutable instruments and released under the company Presteign Sound Labs. Simple controls but complex sounds with one turn of a dial.

Based on Mutable Instruments’ Plaits module, Macro brings the quirky experimentation of the original out of the Eurorack and into the Reason Rack. With an all-new interface designed to take advantage of the Rack Extension format, Macro Multi-Model Synthesizer puts a wide palette of sound generators at your fingertips in a simple, easy-to-explore synthesizer.

Thanks for this beautiful .
I find some difference to my hardware Plaits and VCV Macro Osc. Its not bad and interesting!!! =)
Anyway, all we waiting it in Reason up to this day.
@lowtom, we prepare small ReFill with Combinator Panels based on VCV Rack 2 Pro and dedicated to Audible (Mutable Instruments) modules inside the Reason Rack.

MI modules based devices must be must-have part of Reason Rack. Real power

Hell yes, this thing is pretty dope! More Eurorack stuff into the RE world, please!!!
Looks good. Semi modular. How is it different from other synths like Thor?
Doesn't this require seperate filetrs and envelope modules ?
Are they seperately available ? Are they free too ?

It's based on this: https://mutable-instruments.net/modules/plaits/
It really depends on the synthesis model you choose, how it sounds and what it can do.

I think you missed the point. Noise Engineering is bringing their Eurorack stuff into the RE world. This is pretty much a Mutable Plaits in RE format. TonicMint's CV Toolkit is more or less a bunch of different Eurorack modules in RE format (notably some Mutable Instrument inspired devices, and DivKid's OCHD module as "CV Pistons," but even more capable than OCHD is).visheshl wrote: ↑15 Feb 2022That won't be in the interest of reason studios.
Once they go modular, they won't have anything to do. They'll become useless.
Various Dev's will release various modules.
What will they sell then ?
Or if they do go modular and sell the environment, which has tons of different modules to choose from which works as a vst, is stable and we'll developed, it might begin a new era of music production.
Choose your favourite daw, choose reason modular, and freedom. Use compete synths, or build complex synths from seperate modules and everything works as a vst. Even native instruments will shut shop.
Why separate listings? Macro is basically a synth voice, so... it goes under instruments. I'm pretty sure Ochen K's modular series was listed under instruments too. Tonic Mint's stuff might have been utilities?

This is a fantastic gift. Thank you so much for your time and effort, very much appreciated
And not forgetting MI for making it open source in the first place.

What a great device. Thank you. And free...wow...this would be the main star in a reason 13 199$ upgrade. Oh yes, also, revolutionary.

I wrote in the feature request section that I would like to have a new/separate CMB that has a Eurorack in it so we can have a truly modular set up in Reason. I hope this is a push toward that in the future seeing how this unit has caused a bit of excitement.
Fantastic GUI and sounds
I'm having a lot of fun with this one! Thank you for this!

Wow! Very nice freebie. Big thanks to dev
I just discovered this from Carly's super amazing video!
I have 2 Jakplugg designed Plaits clone modules (one I built, one from the wonderful builder Calsynth) but I find I don't prefer them in my physical rack because Plaits has some hidden controls that I find a bit hard to access, so it's hard to dial in what I'm looking for.
This looks so amazing!
Thank you Pongasoft!

Thank you all for the kind words!
And huge thanks to Pongasoft for being a truly awesome partner in this project, believing in my wild idea and persevering when things looked impossible.
I can't wait to see what you all create with Macro!
