Moderator Edit: This update was accidentally submitted to the shop with a $9 price tag. That was a mistake; it's a free update.

$9 update. Is it purely just a HD update?

Hææ? They are charging for this
Version at top says 3.1.1 with a list of improvements. Can't remember if that's the last version.
Update says: Released: 2021-11-03, Version: 1.1.3
I don't want to jump the gun BUT IF it is just a hi-res update and he's charging for it then that's not really on as far as I'm concerned. Already bought ABL2 and ABL3 and that other bassline VST he's got.
Time will tell.

The audio engine has been improved as well. Working much better now with external sequencers from what I can tell.
And yes, I noticed that it is a payed update as well after posting here.

Would “working much better” mean “working as it should”? Sounds like RS speak to me.RandomNoise wrote: ↑03 Nov 2021The audio engine has been improved as well. Working much better now with external sequencers from what I can tell.

Yeah, I guess you could consider it as a bug fix that should have been updated for free..MrFigg wrote: ↑03 Nov 2021Would “working much better” mean “working as it should”? Yeah. It's a cheap move in my book. No purchase.RandomNoise wrote: ↑03 Nov 2021Yeah, I guess you could consider it as a bug that should have been updated for free..

And there we have another one to add to the list of REs which don't work optimally.

Could be an oversight. I remember another dev (Retouch Control) had accidentally charged for the HD update. Hopefully it is an oversight and the dev will drop the update price because charging for an HD update and bug fix is pretty lousy. Let's see if it's an oversight.
It's happened a lot of times with a lot of devs and it's always been fixed. I've never seen it on the My Products page before though.

The custom displays are, well, custom drawn. So the dev needs to think about relative painting in different resolutions. And it can happen, that the layout of some elements does not fit in Hires 100%. Only now a new Recon is available with Hires support so the devs can test it properly.
Reason12, Win10
Edit. ABL3.1.1 Improvements:
Pattern Grid Edit mode
Advanced Randomizer
Integrated distortion unit with hipass control
Minor sound engine improvements (less noise and aliasing, improved clarity)
23 Additional patches
How about a Devil Fish mod for a future release. lol

To be fair I did notice the improvement when connecting it to other sequencers. In the previous version there was that strange clicking noise that I always thought related to the length of the notes, but with the new update this improved now and any sequencer sounds like the built in one. So I assumed until now that was a feature to mimic the original sequencer..Neo wrote: ↑03 Nov 2021Improved audio engine? reads like an excuse for a paid HD update IMO.
Imagine if we all got charged for HD updates on all our REs lol.

Anyone notice the "Improved audio engine" difference after the paid update? ..

But of course as discussed before this can actually be considered as a bug fix that should have been provided for free and not a real update.

I’m adding my voice as well to the mix:
Glad the clicking is finally fixed… I don’t think that should be a paid update as it just rectifies what was broken in the first place, now giving us the the product working as it should have in the first place. I might still upgrade as then I can actually use the RE the way I wanted to for years. But it sure does leave a bad taste…
