The curve/formant filter on Grain's spectral setting is an amazing thing. Why has no one made a RE out of that sort of jazz? Larger display and so on. Would be great to be able to just put that bad boy in the signal chain.

Maybe because its some kind of resynthesizing and makes only sense in a synth.

But i agree, that some more creative filters would be welcome. I am a bit bored of the all known realized filters since 70 years....

Maybe. It's very similar to Celia, which is stand alone. But if they can get something like Fritz to sample and mangle an incoming signal on the fly surely a Celia/Grain style filter is poss if it just does that one job. I don't even know of a VST that does this. Anyone?

Any RE dev's out there feel free to chime in here...

Maybe because it's generating audio, instead of just processing audio?

Well the granular engine is but the filters down stream of all that gubbins. It's a filter. Anyone ever heard of a 'granular filter'?
Honestly don't know.

I am not sure...sometimes they are processing not audio, but resynthesized data, like FFT data and stuff.

I think the modifiers or filters from Europa were requested as stand-alone too and there were some comments from PH saying that this is not possible IIRC.

The Europa live stream, covers this.

Yeah. Kinda what I figured but thought I’d bring it up.
Gotta wait for those new IBM 2nm processors I guess.

Correct, Europa's oscillators are mathematical equations, they aren't really waveforms of sound.
The modifiers, and spectral filter are processing it still as that.
Until it hits like, the amp/filter section (i guess) it's not audio.
