I remember someone said that it cost more for EU, but in USD it was $399, and now it's $449

Just sharing this because I thought this was funny.

Sheez, steep.
I remember I got this for $99usd a long time ago. I like it, and it does sound good but I don't use it on every song, maybe 1 out 5 song's it'll be on a Vocal or Kick.

So... Softube doesn't know anything about their RE shop and how to administrate it, eh?

I demo'd it once, and actually used it in the mastering chain of an album we were working on. It was good but categorically not worth the money. When the demo expired I just replaced it with separate devices already in Reason or that I'd purchased that did the job. Sucks to say as I'm generally very supportive of the work of devs but I'd need some kind of explanation as to why it costs as much as the entire DAW I'm hosting in, and can do about 1% as much.

Maybe this might be in case 3rd party RE:s are to be leased in conjunction with Reason+, to get more credits out of the deal. As nobody would buy this thing at full price anyway. €499... 50% off means €250, what a deal...not.

I like and use several Softube VSTs. Other than the REs that came with the mixing rig, I'd never consider buying their crazy priced REs. No clue what their thought process was there.

Yeah similar, bought Mixing Rig 2 and that came with the FET (excellent), the TSAR-1R (excellent) and the Valley People Dyna-Mite (absolutely no idea where and when to use this but that's ok).

Obviously I have the Saturation Knob which needs no comment but the only other Softube RE I have is the Trident A-Range. I bought it on Sale for £60 if I remember. Just bought it on impulse and I can't really hear the benefits of using it over any other EQ tbh. Won't be buying anything else from them given the 'abandoned' nature of their REs.

I know exactly what you mean. I use TRAR-1R all the time. I do like FET but rarely use it since I have a few other go-to comps. Dynamite confused me for the longest time up until recently. It works nicely on drum busses. Never tried Trident even when it was on sale. I use Softube's Console 1 with their channel strips. That's most likely why Trident never felt necessary to me.

This really is good. I already used up my TubeTech trial when I found PTEQ-x so I couldn't do a comparison, but it's a nice bit of kit

Also a big fan of the Trident EQ, it does high end sheen like a boss (as does their EQF-100)

I got Tube Tech when it was half price, but now its surpassed by UAD plugs, of which I haven't even used the tube Tech / Pulteq combos yet. But to put on this price someone was clearly on crack.

+1

This plugin is amazing. I even prefer it over the builtin version of Studio One.

Instant „Pultec trick“ gratification!

499 is a stupid move, but the plugs went up in price too. They're costing now 449 for EU users.

Anyway just get kuassa Mp5 and mcdsp c670 and you have more or less the same for 1/5 of that...
