Cool!
I'd appreciate it if they considered a subscription option as well. Not many will buy REs on R+ subscription.

Actually I know at least one person who is trialling the plus service who also uses the subscription deals on RE's...

You mean rent-to-own? It's not quite the same thing.
Even with rent-to-own, there are cases where I wouldn't want to enable rent-to-own for regular users, but totally fine with making it available to R+ subscribers.

No I don't mean rent to own

I mean that subscription package service that's been available for quite some time, not all devices are available but you get to pick an amount and choose a few RE's to use.

I will see if I can find better details but it's been going for ages.

Whatever. It's 1/50 of RE price per month. It may be good for popular things, but it is competing with full license purchase and may reduce sales for occasionally needed REs. I'd be fine if I could only enable it for R+ users, but not for regular ones.

Oh don't get me wrong

I don't and won't ever use a subscription service for software!

If I like it I save a buy it, simply as that I'm old school

Still think it might have been less controversial if it was working on release day.

I thought people would just buy them as normal, nothing to do with subscription.
I can't see many new users taking out a subscription then buying 3rd Party RE's outright.
That's a bit like buying new wheels for a car you are renting.
I think 3rd Party RE's just got relegated unless there is a way to rent them too.
You can also see it like buying furnitures and stuff to an apartment that you're renting. I don't know elsewhere but in Stockholm rental apartments are very common, but also very hard to get because of the massive queue. Fortunately there's no queue for R+

I think, if you always wait until everything is perfect in your software, you never release anything. But good to see, that ppl still complain, even if a thing got solved within days :-P

I was re-installing Reason and a bunch of extensions and noticed all of A-List's guitar racks are gone off the official propellerhead site. I can still install them from Authorizer. Does it have to do with this situation?

No it does not. Those were discontinued and removed from the shop.

The difference being that you can bring your furniture with you if you move to another apartment. ;)

But yes, jokes aside, this is definitely a big improvement over not being able to get 3rd party REs at all for Reason+ only accounts!

Let's face it look how long we've been waiting for vst2 midi devices to work.
Let's make a banjo refill with real banjo samples, and stage a contest with it! Then have a song contest about implementing MIDI! Winner gets a.. 3d printed banjo trophy!
That might help us wait out this storm, and put up a cool YouTube song to gain some traction in the MIDI first movement.
