Maybe they couldn't get it to work with Apple silicon without extensive rewrite.

I have the theory that it will not be compatible with the new version of reason and that is why they eliminated it ... will they give another Re in exchange to those who have bought it?
let's play guessing !!!
Nope. PX7 is a Rack Extension, and as such it's guaranteed to run on every future version of Reason.
I think its removal is more likely due to a legal issue of some sort.
It's interesting to note that the A-Lists and PX7 were the only RS RE's not to be included in Reason 11 Suite (please correct me if I'm wrong).

The Arturia DX7 V should be next then.

So many (eye candy) tabs, compared to the PX7's UI.

It’d a pity that the very 1st synth RE RS (PH) made, which was supposed to live as long as Reason (or any RE host) was tied to some kind of « contract » which should be renew !

Here are my assumptions :

80% : it’s an error on the web / shop sites. Or it’s a joke from RS to have the pleasure to see what ReasonTalk will be talking about this weekend ! On Monday, everything will be as before

1% : copyright / licensing problem

2% : there is a planned paid v2 and they don’t want people to buy v1 « just before » the v2 release and complain about not having the update for free

16.5%: PX7 is included in Reason from v12 (alongside hi-dpi, which I’m sure will be a paid for update) because it allows them to have « some synth » in the release without having to develop one (and keep the new synth to sell it as a RE). They stop selling PX7 « before » releasing it to ensure people who want PX7 to buy v12 (if v12 only « big » feature is hi-dpi, a lot of people will complain)

0.5% : PX7 v2 is included in Reason 12

PX7 is awesome. I hope they plan to add this to Reason 12 (standard or suite) so it isn't lost.
That was my first thoughts. Perhaps they're just gonna add it as stock in Reason 12?

Was / is there a Lately Bass on PX7, if so, how good is it?

Well I'm going to set the cat among the pidgins.

If it ends up being included in v12 upgrade I will definitely stop buying rack extensions. :o

I have brought most of the upgrades pretty much upon release and opted for suite when announced, even though I had already purchased a number of the included devices as it was still a massive saving and not much more expensive than a standard upgrade, but I'm seriously considering not buying new devices until after the release of new upgrades.

Either way it's sad to see how many devices have disappeared over the last few years, personally I would rather they just kept them available for minimal cost if not for free!

----Edit---

Or maybe open source the code for them ;) that could really help the rack extension platform.
You mean stop buying Reason Studio's Rack Extensions surely?

Must be Yamaha's lawyer.
Why other DX-clones live without problems?
Why other 303-clones live without problems?
Maybe tomorrow come lawyer for Reason's word?

Stupid situation.
Yeah they discontinued ReBirth out of good will, they didn't really have to I don't think, they were just asked to or am I wrong anyone?

They'd just give people a free upgrade if they'd bought it in the last month, something like that. I'm sure they've done that before.

Or a coupon or something 🤷‍♂️

This is strange, and the thought of it being included in an "imminent V12" (unlikely) sounds far fetched to me.

I'd bet that this is either a shop error or the fallout of a behind the scenes legal battle.

I was under the assumption that px7 was an emulator of the original engine - the product seems feature complete and final. Another thing on my mind is the webpage to convert original dx7 patches to px7 patches. Legal nonsense wouldn't surprise me.

As long as they don't take it away from me... I like it!

No I actually mean Rack Extensions as in I will just buy DAW upgrades and only "if they have a feature I want".

I was actually very much against vst's in Reason when they first was introduced but very quickly saw the benefits of them, now I have a reasonable selection of both and don't actually feel the need to add much to my setup as things stand.

I use izotope advanced for mixing & mastering devices so don't feel like I need much else, synth wise I'm well covered to the point that I can't even be bothered to try Vital even though it's free.

No I actually think I'm going to start looking a physical hardware devices and just ignore RE's for awhile...... :o

Billy, I'm probably the one with the least amount of synths in Reason Talk and I can't be bothered to try vital even though it is free 😂😂😂😂

How the Lately bass is made? original lately belongs to Tx81Z module which can read the sinewave in different ways, creating some harmonic waveform variations (it does NOT contains "more waveforms"). Roughly the LB is based on second Algorithm while OP 1-2-4 are standard sinewave, but number 3 is assigned to wave number 5.

https://www.polynominal.com/lately-bass ... index.html

Or maybe it did have more waveforms

Vs the DX-7 it had only 4 operators (vs 6) therefore less options how they could interact, but it had the capability to use non sinewave waveforms too.

Dexed was my default FM player. I never liked the PX7's DX7 first gen look. Later I got to see the very rare blue DX hardware programmer. No menu. Everything was there. This is when I finally got it, what the PX7's vision about.

"PX7, DX7 clone. A Re barely alive.
RS can rebuild it. They have the technology. They can make it better, than it was. Better, stronger, faster."

I much prefer the sound of the PX7. My favorite patches don't sound as good on Dexed, such as "FM Growth" and "REVINETTE". Dexed sounds thin to me and not as rich. Not to mention the ReFills I have from Navi and Nucleus Soundlab which are exclusive to Reason and PX7. And then there's the macro sliders which make PX7 so much better.

I agree that’s why I put 2% and 16.5% of chance that’s the reason of PX7 disappearance

The very 1st REs were to be « hw like » with everything on 1 screen because panels and graphical displays were not provided by the RE SDK v1
However, setting of envelopes is a pain with PX7 and I’d not be opposed to have them « à la » Europa. Same with key scaling setting.
