Okay. If you’re sure. I don’t see how though, as it’s like says making Logic compatible with Apple Silicon magically made all the NI plugins natively compatible too. Which it didn’t. As previously suggested, I’m pretty sure every RE will need to be recompiled from the source code and redownloaded by the purchaser for it to be optimised for a Silicon Mac. And the I’m still not all that reassured that discontinued product would get the same treatment. But it’s not an immediate worry for me, so I’ll see how it plays out. I’m parking Reason for a few months anyway, so I can fully concentrate on exploring my new Roland Fantom.

that would severely reduce their performance on M1 Macs, compared to running native M1-compatible versions. That would leave RS in the dust compared to other DAWs and plugins that move to native M1 series chip compatibility.
you mean the little dust of mac users.

I use windows and I don't see dust

No need to be rude to Mac users, is there?

Are some projecting RS won't be able to successfully move to the M1 chip Macs? The question was asked. We got a great answer. We shall know if they lied to the Mac people or not. I believe they did not. Even Microsoft wants their RISC based chip. AMD, Samsung also. If RS can't then the company will be left behind. In the dust.

Don't worry. Be happy

I'm not as worried about RE support as I am for VST's, lots of vst developers are going to want paying for having to build M1 version of their software so I'm guessing we are all going to end up buying plugins again rather than having an update fix things.

I'm assuming I'm never going to get ozone 8 advance as an M1 native build and will be forced in upgrading even though I don't feel the need.

Valhalla have already got M1 versions out - keeping your software up to date with current computers is not a "feature", it's just what you have to do if you want to be a software company.

I'll admit, if they had announced the imminent removal of PX7 ahead of time I probably would've bought it. I came close to picking it up several times, but I had a solid 8 years, so it's my own fault. 😊

Very different. Vst/AU plugins are practically full separate applications. REs on the contrary are more similar to Reason stock devices than they are to other plugin formats. Unlike other plugins, developers are not making separate Mac and PC versions. They make one version that Reason Studios does the final compiling on. That was the selling point of the format. They already demonstrated running Polysix on ELK hardware as a prototype. Korg wasn’t directly involved. Reason users currently using Reason on M1 macs are not doing separate Rosetta 2 installations for RE, which however is required to do for VST/AU plugs currently.

I managed to buy it from the rewards shop like a week before it vanished. Was scrolling through my REs on the website and noticed it and a few others had the "No image" thumbnail and had no idea what had happened, but glad I got it in time. Now all I have to do is learn and understand FM synthesis and sound design :?

Folks, anyone who have PX7, i'm just wondering - do it have some randomization system\button ? Just, i heard something about this, but looking thru user manual now, and not see anything about random. (Maybe it' was not about px7, i dont remember).

No. There is no randomization feature on PX-7.

If PX7's discontinuation has left you suddenly wishing you had an FM synth in Reason, Primal Audio's FM4 is still a very capable alternative. While it has only four operators instead of six, it has some features PX7 doesn't, such as non-sinusoidal waveforms and unison. It also has one of the best user interfaces for an FM synth, and in my experience is much faster to program than PX7 (which, despite a very well-designed UI, still has to expose the entirety of the notoriously complex DX7 engine).

Yes i heard about FM4, need will try (and have Blamsoft Zero Hybrid), just, my main purpose of using the PX7 was planned on getting random textures, for some reason I was really sure that there was randomization there. I am not quite was interested in PX7 through intended use, although a bunch of presets it's good. But now I know that I haven't lost much, that good.

You can use this and then convert them to PX7: https://www.thisdx7cartdoesnotexist.com

Hmm interesting thing, thanks for share. (But, nevertheless unfortunately it's not the same as if it would be inside plugin.)
