I agree, but hoping it's not over yet for "PX8". Keep the faith.

If PX7 has been removed because it has problems with running on Reason v12 - how will all other vendors RE then run in v12 ?
The Universe Is Vibrating
No REs will have problems running in Reason 12 or any other future version of Reason.SoundObjects wrote: ↑18 Jan 2021If PX7 has been removed because it has problems with running on Reason v12 - how will all other vendors RE then run in v12 ?
Future proofing seems to have been one of the most important design goals with the RE format.
All GUIs are specified in a high-res format that shouldn't become obsolete for the foreseeable future, and the code itself is delivered in a platform-independent format (LLVM), ready to be compiled for basically any target platform. The new M1 chip from Apple is a prime example of this: Once an M1 native Reason build exists, all they have to do is recompile all existing REs on Reason Studios' servers. No intervention from third party developers (such as ourselves) will be required.

There can only be one winner, based on all the facts that I was taught at the YouTube University, the place I've got my Ph.D. in Theoretical Ufology from: The Illuminati are confiscating each and every FM Synthesizer all around the globe - wait, isn't the Earth actually flat in reality? - in order to build a Hyper Mega Uber 5G Multi-Frequency Modulation Death Ray Generator that will be utilized to decimate Earth's population, with Reason Studios being part of all that. I knew it from the beginning.
'Okay Marcus, time to take your medicine and to go back into your padded cell'., my nurse just said. Well, I have to obey. Speak you later guys.

Ok, we’ll except for BSG - which remains one of the greatest shows ever made. Except for the finale. #StarbuckWasNoAngelbxbrkrz wrote: ↑18 Jan 2021EnochLight wrote: ↑18 Jan 2021

Sorry for not commenting on this sooner! We're super busy after the holidays and things moved quickly here.
PX7 was actually not developed in-house, similar to the A-List series, and we decided to discontinue it for licensing reasons. It'll continue to work for all of you that's bought it, of course. REs are designed to work forever for all owners, regardless of what happens with the product and developer. One of the very best features of the format, in my opinion!
To save you any speculations, other REs we've developed with a partner (like the amazing Robotic Bean and Lectric Panda) have different terms and there's no reason they'll ever be discontinued.
If you missed it but still want a DX7 sound, I can recommend the free, Open Source Dexed VST: https://asb2m10.github.io/dexed/
