Is there a Player to help with latching to the beat?

Hi, I setup a very simple 1/8 Note Arpeggio in Dual Arpeggio at that plays:
C4-C5-C4-C5 when I hold down C note

But I'm finding it hard to play this live, and shift from C to F, etc. If I press 'F' even a moment too soon, the walking bass goes offbeat.

When I press the "HOLD" button in Dual Arpeggio, things are a bit better, but it still take a lot of timing to play it just right.

I was wondering whether there's a player that could maybe "latch" to the beat. I.e. it would send "C" to the next player as long as I'm holding C, but if I press F, it would only send "F" to the next player on the next 1/8 note transition. I.e. I want to play a walking bass a bit easier. :)

You'll have to play ahead of the beat but this ReFill should do the trick. I know it's not a Player but thought this might be your best bet. Hope it helps: https://sounds.doubleoeight.com/blogs/0 ... ime-refill

Select by Robotic Bean has quantized switching that can be controlled by midi notes, combined with CV8X4 CV generator (both free) you could build a patch that will switch to a pre-programmed note on the next beat

Volt SL1 by Zvork can do this as well and is a single device

play midi notes into the combinator. the patch shuttles between Select Channels 1 & 2 loading the note played into the other channel and switching over at the next quantized interval :)

Interesting. Distributor is a neat idea for this. Will give it a try. Thanks!

of course this patch only outputs note value signal, in order to trigger the arp properly i chose to add a matrix outputting a single gate event at the beginning of each bar and hooked the 2 signals into the scales&chords & dual arpeggiator (set to hold mode) via a MIDI-CV player.

building it was pretty fun, thanks for the question
