Just wanted to let you guys know that there is a sale planned in about two weeks time. So if you are thinking about picking it up I would trial it first and then buy it during the sale.
Did you just give away the approximate start date of May Madness?ForgottenClank wrote: ↑05 May 2020Just wanted to let you guys know that there is a sale planned in about two weeks time. So if you are thinking about picking it up I would trial it first and then buy it during the sale.

GUI is courtesy of a friend (PM if you want contact details). A huge thanks to him!

It's rare that I want a RE these days, but this is really good!
Regarding the GUI. It's like there is a diffuser in front of the (straight, facing down) light source. I love how the shadows look.

Interesting. So this is meant to be used in conjunction with another bass instrument? Or is it meant to be used as the only bass source?

You'd use it in combination with another bass. In EDM you often have really crazy bass sounds where a lot of processing is necessary to get them to sound the way they do. That means that often their low frequencies aren't very consistent and the general consensus is that one should highpass them and put a separate sub underneath the main bass that isn't influenced by any processing done on the main bass. This also works for chord stacks where a lot of supersaws work very well for mid and high notes but not for low notes, where the phasing (which gives the supersaws their characteristic sound) causes the bass to be inconsistent in volume.PhillipOrdonez wrote: ↑05 May 2020Interesting. I don't understand why RS accepts photorealistic looking devices in the store (this one, recent Ujams, etc.). Comparing to all the other stylised stuff, it sticks out like a site thumb, even though it does look great.
Also, I can't see a way to reset oscillator phase on new note? That's gonna be a problem when layering with other synths, because of potential phase cancellation.

I'm not sure I know what you mean. Every new note will start with a 0° phase. I don't see the point for random phase in a subbass.

Soon as my migraine lifts I’m gonna try this. Love the look of it. At first glance I even thought it looks a bit Ableton ish. Plus I love orange on grey. So there’s that.
It does? That's great! I didn't mean 'random', I meant 'continuous’ or 'free-running' like in analog synths.ForgottenClank wrote: ↑05 May 2020I'm not sure I know what you mean. Every new note will start with a 0° phase. I don't see the point for random phase in a subbass.

Just to be clear: If you are playing a note and then another one on top of it (so that the new note gets played) the phase will not be reset to prevent clicking. You first have to stop the note and then restart it and it will always start at 0° phase.

No EDM here but I always do this anyway. I was just wondering!ForgottenClank wrote: ↑05 May 2020You'd use it in combination with another bass. I got to check the video again, my brain isn't working well today, but did you showcase this being used with another bass in it?

Kind of. There are two chord layers and one very distorted bass. I highpassed the distorted bass to leave room for the subbass.PhillipOrdonez wrote: ↑05 May 2020I got to check the video again, my brain isn't working well today, but did you showcase this being used with another bass in it?
