Finally, after more than 1 year in development and testing...

Evolution has been released!

Evolution is a generative player that uses seeded, deterministic random numbers. These numbers are locked against the transport timeline, which allows replay, looping, and repeatable pattern-to-track functionality. Rhythmic pattern generation and sequence variations are rooted in the Schillinger System of Musical Composition.
  • Generative player
    Seeded, deterministic random numbers
    Infinite rhythmic possibilities
    4 deterministic CV generators
    3000 Combinator music generators

That explains, why the Panda was so silent... Looks interesting! Right on time for the weekend!

This is pure wizardry! Couple of button presses and I've got something incredibly musical sounding. Gonna need to dive into the manual to full understand it. Fantastic work!

May be a different thing but I’ve been doing that kind of stuff with RND, Matrix and Scales and Chords (or similar) up to now.

I tried to read the manual and now I think I have a bleed on the brain.

I will just have to try it instead!

Yeah I gotta admit the manual went RIGHT over my head. I'd love to see a brief video overview so I know where to look to get certain results.

Still even just clicking around aimlessly I'm getting some crazy, complicated and cool results. Inspiration machine!

Instant purchase. Understanding it will take a bit more time.

So thankful for the "seed". I love some seemingly random exploration, but I also enjoy not losing something that sounded great forever.

It's deterministic and synced to transport, therefore it's random but - for given set of parameters - repeatable unlike RND.

At least this is what I understood.

One of the nicest (and original looking) new devices I've seen in a while - will trial it solely based on it being a Panda device AND good looking! Very interesting concept too, and I'm finding stuff like this very useful in Reason AND for getting interesting stuff out of my Eurorack modules.

BTW, why it is yellow? All Panda's devices were white / grey thus far. Is it a sign of new "device line"? :)

I loved the demo. Same with the RND demo but I never quite got my head around that one (although admittedly I didn’t give it a great deal of time). Very interesting and I’ll be trying for sure. But would be great to see a tutorial video for this that explains the features, how it works and what it’s doing 😉

Thanks. The repeatable thing I get round by sending to track.

Sure, but with RND the riff you liked might never happen again and if you were not recording / sending to track there's no way to go back.

There's no such problem here :)

This is like Beatmap for melodies. Melomap?

There are very few players that I find interesting, but I think this is one of them. I've only tried it out very briefly, but I can see how his could become useful for me.
I'll most likely just use it to generate short riffs and then send them to track for some minor tweaking. So even though I'll probably only use 30% of this REs capabilities it would still be enough for me.
Also I like that this has a new look compared to the other Panda devices. New colors and just looks a lot cleaner/more simple which speaks to me.

I'll try it out some more, but it's very likely I'll end up buying this one. The price seems very reasonable.
