This is just me daydreaming (or late-night dreaming as it's already 1 AM here) but I'd love to see Roland Cloud's offerings in Rack Extension format. Just imagine seeing the newly released XV-5080 actually rigged in your Reason rack
Here's a list of VSTs that were hardware rackmounts and would look amazing in Reason's rack:
Roland Cloud:
XV-5080
JV-1080
SRX Expansions
D-50 (D-550)
Korg:
M1 (M1R)
Wavestation (WS SR/WS Ex)
Can you think of a few others?

The newly released 5080? It's 20 years old.
If you really look at what we have Reason is limitless. Take the PX7, Radical Piano, Kong... and the rest. I love my 5080 - but it fades quickly next to Reason.
As for the Korg synths are you the last one on the planet to hear about Legacy? It's great and covers nearly all of Korg up until Trinity.

They Korg VST stuff is currently on sale for $25 ea, but just one or two more days. Better act fast if you want them, or you can snap up the old hw on ebay for a cool $1000+ combined for the same stuff. Don't sleep on the old Korg if you want those sounds, several useful gems still there between the airy vocal padscocoazenith wrote: ↑11 Dec 2019This is just me daydreaming (or late-night dreaming as it's already 1 AM here) but I'd love to see Roland Cloud's offerings in Rack Extension format. Alright.
So I went ahead and made some simulations with the newly released XV-5080
from Roland Cloud as REs.
Seems Reason is the natural place for these rackmount inspired plug-ins, right?

Actually they just re-released it yesterday, in plug-in form, as part of Roland Cloud.bitley wrote: ↑11 Dec 2019The newly released 5080? It's 20 years old.

Its authentic design, as compared to other RC products & VSTs based on rackmounts,
is what prompted my idea.
You've got the XV-5080 now in Roland Cloud. But i would love it in RE form. Just look at it. It's made to be rigged!
Is there a MKS-80/Jupiter-6 in plugin form already? If there's anyone who will release it, it will be Roland Cloud.
PG8X times two & choruses off and you are in the zone.
Didn't know about the 5080 plug, thanks for the info. Will take a look.

Seems like the JV-1080 VST has 90-95% of the XV-5080 VST content already. So more like a re-skin. Considering Korg put their 4 Wavestation modules in one VST and puts it on sale for $25, it seems hard to justify the Roland Cloud thingy, and I doubt Roland ever will make any REs. Would love to have the JV-1080 as a VST so I don't have to hook up my hw module, but not for the price of Roland cloud and they got rid of the pick 2 VST after a year. I could have done that...cocoazenith wrote: ↑12 Dec 2019Alright.

They're of course struggling with accepting the software market so it's a small step but yeah Roland rack gear in Reason would certainly tickle my toes.
roland my first sampler in mono days... although lol... the sales man said stereo... doh

The novation peak!!!
Virus
Pro-1
Maybe the minilogue XD?
Would be cool to see developers make Re versions of rack mounted gear
Mayor of plucktown
if you are looking at odd things then add these to the list
Kurzweil k200R
Yamaha EX5R
Kawaii k5000R (with digital analog module)
General music S2R
Alesis OSR
E-MU Proteus 2000, Orbit, Planet-Phat, Morpheus, and anything of their strings
Although Roland have their cloud versions it would be nice if you could purchase the racks
VP 9000 Variphrase
JV880 because it was a stripped down version of the JV series
Also their U220, and D110 they are cheesy but give you a lot of 80's 12 bit sounds.

All the menu diving on the 5080 was a headache on the actual hardware. Poking through all those menus with a mouse pointer on the Reason rack would be a nightmare!cocoazenith wrote: ↑12 Dec 2019Alright.
