I own all of the Kuassa EQ rack extensions, but am considering going for the softube tube-tech next time it goes on sale- my trial on it was used years ago, could anyone offer opinions? Is the Softube EQ much better, and how good is the compressor section?
)))
Try this before you throw that amount of money away.

plus 100000000 for this.
if you think you need a pultec style EQ, just get this one, and maybe send the devs a few of the bucks they saved you.

Ooh thank you very much! It doesn't have a compressor section, but it certainly seems worth trying.MrFigg wrote: ↑14 Oct 2019Try this before you throw that amount of money away.

not a CL1B comp, but this free LA-2 is great and can cover a lot of the same ground, especially on vocals or bass sounds.

combine that with the free pultec EQ and you have instant boutique mojo

Nobody really needs a Pultec for 350 bucks... The EQs are good and musical, but nothing that makes me horny... Especially not for that price.
The compressor is... A compressor. I personally don't use it much. Maybe because it works best on specific material. You could try Molot or a SSL compressor as an alternative.

Also great advice, thank you. It's hard to resist branching out on gear & is good to hear something like this while brainstorming hahaLoque wrote: ↑14 Oct 2019Nobody really needs a Pultec for 350 bucks... why not get some mixing and mastering software for that money like izotope's or sonible's which also include EQ? Or are you looking for a specific kind of EQ?

I downloaded it, installed it and tried it for a bit. It’s nothing I really have a use for but it never crashed Reason 10 for me. I know other people who use it without problem as well. But don’t take my word for it alone. I guess there’s more people on the forum who can comment on this.

I have Izotope Ozone 8 which I sometimes use for Mastering, I think I'm just looking for more "universal" or "professional" EQ/comp devices to use on individual tracks, potentially on many tracks in a song, ideally ones that are an EQ/comp 2-in-1 device.

I understand, maybe Melda has something for you, their plugins might not look that pretty but they are pretty good for the price in my opinion...
